The Human Resources Generalist may participate in the development, implementation and administration of programs and services related to areas such as Recruitment, Compensation, HR Information Systems, Employee Relations, Training and OD activities. This position impacts the company's ability to proactively attract, motivate and retain an engaged and high performing work force. Builds trusted relationships with clients to provide strategic consultative support in improving critical business outcomes. Consults with managers and associates on issues including performance, terminations, sexual harassment, discrimination, and interpretation/compliance with all federal and state laws. Work is performed under general supervision. Work is performed in an independent manner where the nature of decisions, recommendations and variables are simple to moderately complex. Recommendations are based on solid knowledge and experience and are well researched and conceptually sound. Position serves as the Subject Matter Expert in some areas of responsibility.


  • Responsible for benefits administration including new hire benefits education and enrollment assistance, and coordination of annual benefits open enrollment.

  • Serve as a liason with benefits broker to address and elevate employee benefit concerns as needed.

  • Coordination of new hire orientation and onboarding .

  • HRIS management including activities such as but not limited to data entry and auditing, headcount/turnover metrics and ad hoc reporting for HR team and external business partners.

  • Participation in the roll out of new HR programs and practices.

  • May assist with workplace investigations in partnership with Human Resources Business Partners.

  • Complete timely and accurate regulatory reports including EEO-1 and Affirmative Action reports. Insure that required regulatory posters are placed in all applicable building locations.


  • Working knowledge of federal and WA or CA state labor laws, as well as of EEOC policies and procedures.

  • Solid understanding of HR best practices and trends.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and utilize discretion in sensitive matters.

  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, off boarding, performance management and benefits administration.

  • Proficient with MS office, HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, etc.

  • Strong documentation skills and a high standard of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Professional external and internal verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong accountability and follow-through skills.

  • Ability to exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies.

  • Ability to work with others to resolve highly complex issues.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to provide data based reports as well as recommendation for action based analysis.

These global functions include Commercial, Research and Development and Operations. What will you be doing? * Talent * Establish and drive a Talent Rhythm across the global functions. * Surface new ideas to embed talent as a key differentiator including workforce/succession planning. * Prioritize the Global HR Three-Year Roadmap. * Continue to embed the Verathon 7 values and Verathon 12 Leadership Behaviors as a key cultural differentiator in our talent practices. * Business Partnering * Cultivate a true human capital consulting partnership with global business leaders to drive the annual employee life cycle. * Pro-actively participate in business partner discussions and provides pragmatic guidance. * Ensures appropriate HR shared services partners are kept apprised of global business issues. * Coaches at all levels to ensure understanding and collaboration. * Rewards * Assist in developing the Company's global compensation structure and philosophy. * Facilitate compensation benchmarking as needed to support business needs and partner with HR Shared Services to support the global functions. * Engagement * Coaches leaders on Verathon's Employee Engagement Actions and assists leaders in identifying opportunities to improve. * Organizational Development * Utilize organizational diagnostic techniques to facilitate effective continuous improvement. * Assist the HR Leadership Team in developing and executing against the Verathon People Strategy. * Annual travel at approximately 15%. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Four-year degree is required; with additional certifications and/or graduate level coursework preferred. * 12 years of progressive HR experience in a multi-national organization. * At least four years of experience at the Senior Manager or above level in a fast-paced organization. * Ability to demonstrate the Verathon 7 Values and 12 Leadership Behaviors. * Medical industry experience is a plus. We're passionate about healthcare, you should be too. * Demonstrated knowledge of US employment laws. Experience working with multiple state employment laws is preferred. * Exposure to international regulations is preferred. * Strong understanding of Microsoft office suite is required. * A strong sense of humor and passion for Human Resources is a must. * Able to work core business hours and overtime as necessary.
