Job Summary Processes transactions involving employee data impacting a variety of HR systems.
Job Responsibilities Collects and enters data into the department's application(s) for new hires, employee changes, employee separations and other payroll related processing.
Ensures all transactions are executed in accordance with federal, state and local laws, company policies and standard work instructions.
Conducts audits to ensure accuracy of FTE designation, key shift premium usage, secondary position usage and other key employee data.
Answers questions from/provides guidance to supervisors and employees regarding employee data and transaction processing.
Completes filing and scanning of documentation.
Organizational Responsibilities Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures.
Executes all tasks and behaves in a manner consistent with a culture of compliance, safety and a high reliability organization; behavior supports the organization's core commitments of Integrity, Service, Respect, Teamwork, Excellence, and Innovation.
Education High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or higher required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration None required.
Work Experience A minimum of 2 years' progressive experience in a related field required.
Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and works under general supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.

In addition, this role will have leadership responsibility for employee relations as well as other high performance initiatives to deliver transformation and ongoing continuous improvement to our work practices and team leader leadership capabilities. The HR Manager will build on and apply expertise in various areas including organizational effectiveness, leadership coaching, performance management, employee engagement & relations, change management, lean manufacturing, organizational design & development, training and development and project management to contribute to the successful operation of Owensboro Operations. CUSTOMERS AND CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS: * Customers are supply chain leaders, site leaders, and both hourly and salary employees. * Customer requirements include developing and maintaining a positive employee relations atmosphere in the site, now, and as we further evolve to high performance work systems. Ensure that sound employee relations policies and practices are in effect and consistent with corporate and site direction and state and federal labor laws. SCOPE: * Reports to the Associate HR Director, KCP Supply Chain and serves as a member of the Site Leadership Team * Partners with the Mill Manager and the Leadership team to drive organizational effectiveness programs and projects heavily focused on building individual capability to achieve business results. * Incumbent interacts extensively with the Owensboro Leadership Team and operations leadership teams, providing advice and counsel for change management, employee communications, HR policies, and employee relations matters for Owensboro Mill. DIMENSIONS: Direct deputies include: 1 HR Generalist and 1 Training resource Plant Population: ~350 people RESPONSIBILITIES: * Lead the development of the site people strategy to continuously improve engagement and enablement, and the overall health of the organization. * Provide consultation, coaching and guidance on effective change management related to mill initiatives. * Develop the strategy for the site training and development program. * Lead organizational effectiveness programs focused on improving individual capability to deliver business results. * Provide HR services to mill. Serve as advisor to the site leadership, providing policy and program development and administration in areas which include employment; safety and health administration; employee relations; EEO; training and development; compensation and benefits; and medical services to be provided in the context of our operation's cultural environment, corporate policies and procedures, and applicable federal and state laws. * Develop, recommend, and implement plans to enable the mill to achieve its goals using high involvement organization principles. * Provide consultation on the development and implementation of mill occupational safety and health, employee wellness, and employee assistance programs. * Facilitate and lead teams of employees chartered to improve the effectiveness of the organization. * Manage the mill's talent acquisition process to ensure the organization attracts, develops and retains the best people. Foster an environment which motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results. Develop and implement plans which ensure that the mill achieves its goals for affirmative action in employment. * Assist the Mill Manager in establishing and maintaining a positive corporate image in the local community. * Support a broad range of local and corporate strategic HR initiatives to progress the HR function within the site. QUALIFICATIONS: Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Management, or related field. * Requires a comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources (usually a minimum of 7 years of experience is required) to include Employee Engagement, Change Management, Organizational Design, state and federal labor laws and current economic and labor relations developments. * Previous experience as an HR Team Leader/Manager that has strong understanding of manufacturing functional areas and their interactions, and a working knowledge of continuous improvement /Lean manufacturing. * Must have demonstrated capability in problem solving, conflict resolution and working within site culture. In depth knowledge of business strategy, and specific HR functional knowledge Preferred Qualifications: * Ability to build credibility with all levels of the organization. * Knowledge of High Performance and Self-Managing Team Work Systems. * Experience delivering business results through improved organizational capability. * Critical skills include: motivation, initiative, thoroughness, decision making and planning skills. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Strong organizational and analytical skills. * Ability to work with SAP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
