JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Human Resource Assistant
Classification: Non-Exempt
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work: Full-Time Position. Monday
Friday 7:50 a.m.
4:00 p.m.
Reports to: HR Generalist
Position Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of the Lead Administrator, provide administrative assistance to the Human Resource Generalist Associate, the role will support various Human Resource and administrative functions.
Essential Functions
Assist Human Resources with daily time and attendance
Perform HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance
Assist employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures
Assist with new employee onboarding and orientation
Process health and welfare employee enrollments and terminations
Maintain confidential personnel files and personnel actions
Complete unemployment separation/Unemployment wage requests
Assist in Recruitment and Hiring, screen applications, schedule interviews, and conducting reference checks.
Respond to reference checks and verification of employment status
Assist the HR Generalist with HR projects and audits
Prepare, copy and distribute notices, memoranda, and/or other correspondence for the purpose of informing school employees regarding activities, events, and/or other work-related matters
Assist in maintaining documents, files, and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and an audit trail for compliance
Assist in maintaining inventories of supplies and materials for the purpose of ensuring item availability
Answer telephone calls and provide information/assistance to callers as needed
Other duties as assigned by the Lead Administrator
Additional Duties:
Perform other related tasks as assigned by the HR Generalist as designated by the Lead Person.

Equipment: Uses standard office equipment such as personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, telephone.
Travel Requirements: Limited travel to and from meetings, campuses, post office.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to describe problems and work orally or in writing as required.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and perform arithmetic operations.
Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the internet, Outlook, electronic mail).
Ability to problem solve job-related issues.
Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
Ability to process paperwork accurately according to standardized procedures.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
Organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of office management procedures.
Must have experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards: Work in a standard office setting and school building environment, walking, climbing up and down stairwells. Depending on the duty, the employee may have to lift and / or move objects up to 10 pounds.
Qualification Profile:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for the successful execution of the aforementioned functions would be qualifying.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
High School Diploma
Some Human Resource experience preferred
Some shorthand or speed writing skills desirable
Previous school experience preferred
Terms of Employment: 12 Month Contact
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually.
FLSA Status: Exempt
