WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Human Resources (HR) Compliance Specialist is a non-exempt position responsible for assisting with maintaining compliance of personnel background screenings and documentation. This includes performing internal audits on personnel files, processing updated background screenings based on agency/funder requirements, participating in external audits as required by agency/funders and reviewing outcomes of internal/external audits to identify gaps in current process/procedures.

  • Conducts on-going audits of all personnel files to ensure compliance with the various contracts/funders/lead agencies

  • Request needed information/documentation from employees/programs and departments and maintain follow-up as needed

  • Prepare for and participate in external audits and investigate and respond to findings

  • Process 5-year re-screens and local background screenings for employees, contractors, volunteers, interns as needed.

  • Review annual motor vehicle reports for employees, volunteers, and interns for issues and send to broker to confirm driver eligibility status as needed

  • Maintain background screening requirement reference sheet

  • Assist Quality Improvement (QI) Department with ongoing internal audits

  • Prepare reports from results of external and internal (both HR and QI) audits to assist with identifying gaps in processes

  • Ensure proper completion of Form I-9 for all new hires and update as required

  • Complete E-Verify for all new hires

  • Perform other duties as assigned

WORK ARRANGEMENT:

  • Office and field work required (hybrid work environment)

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent,

  • A minimum of one (1) year of administrative/clerical experience

  • Previous experience in Human Resources, preferred

  • Proficient in or ability to quickly learn the agencies HRIS software, talent management, and background screening platforms.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  • Must be able to travel to agency locations as needed for audits. Must have a valid drivers' license, auto insurance coverage, and use of a personal vehicle to meet the traveling requirements.
