The AdventureGE Appliances is seeking an intern to work with seasoned human factors experts, UX and Industrial Designers. Our team supports an enormously diverse product portfolio and answers a large array of research questions. During your year internship, you will gain hands-on experience with a diverse human factors toolset, domain applications, and methodologies such as virtual human modeling, ergonomic evaluations, eye tracking, accessibility, hardware/ software prototyping, and in person as well as remote usability testing. What you will Learn & Do

Essential responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and conduct analysis of user research for a variety of appliances and mobile apps.

  • Conduct rapid, iterative usability testing with a variety of methods.

  • Reference ergonomic databases and existing literature to synthesize design guidelines.

  • Synthesize research insights into effective user-centered design.

  • Work closely and collaborate with interaction design, industrial design, engineers, and brand management.

  • Summarize and interpret quantitative data.

What you need to Succeed


  • Must be enrolled full-time at an accredited school or university

  • Undergraduate or Graduate student with a 3.2 GPA or higher

  • Basic understanding of hypothesis testing and descriptive data analysis.

  • Basic skills summarizing qualitative and interview data.

  • Experience with human factors/UX methods (course work or industry experience).

  • Experience with iterative usability testing procedures and analysis.

  • Must be willing and able to relocate to Louisville, KY for the year duration of the internship.

Process Manager - Lead implementation of core HR programs such as goal setting, performance and talent management and compensation management into the business ensuring an effective, sustainable people strategy over the long term. Employee Advocate/Relations - Build management capability to facilitate an open, inclusive, Terex culture-based environment that enables effective employee relations. Ensure role is perceived as an objective employee resource and escalation path for unresolved employee relations issues. May conduct investigations and provide conflict resolution as necessary. Program/Project Management - Lead various projects across the assigned client groups such as implementation of the regional recruitment model, staffing new product development efforts, annual review and various other projects as assigned. Major Responsibilities: * Plan, coordinate, perform, and participate in day-to-day Human Resources Management activities for team members. * Assure Team Members receive timely response to inquiries, answer questions, and receive access to all Human Resources services. * Administer a full range of Human Resources programs designed to ensure Team Members against loss of income due to illness, injury, layoff, or retirement. * Provide advice and service to Team Leaders in operating units on matters such as organization, job design and team building. * Participate with Team Leaders in developing short and long range staffing plans based on and related to level of activity and type of products. * Establish regular communications about company-wide Human Resources programs through periodic orientations for work teams, written communications, and newsletters * Facilitate recruitment and selection activities for certain key openings. * Coordinate and participate in review assessment and interviewing of applicants. * Facilitate identification of Team Members eligible for professional development and promotion. Work with leadership of the operating units to provide growth opportunities for high potential Team Members. (Succession Planning) * Communicate salary and benefit programs to Team Members. Collect, analyze, and prepare job information for purposes of determining salary placement. Ensure Team Members get timely service on benefits matters. * Communicate, orient, and enforce Human Resources guideline.
