ABOUT UNITED TOTE COMPANY
United Tote Company is one of the two or three largest companies in the world engaged in the business of development and sale of totalisator systems for pari-mutuel wagering. The United Tote Horizon Totalisator system, commonly known as the "tote," performs a critical function at pari-mutuel facilities such as horse and greyhound racetracks. As the single most important element in the highly regulated wagering process, the tote must operate reliably with accuracy and speed for extended periods of time. Sophisticated software permits the interaction of the wagering system components, the sell/cash wagering terminals, computers, peripherals and complex information generation equipment for video and infield board displays. Each system accumulates wagering data, calculates odds and payoff amounts, verifies winning tickets and generates a wide variety of reports required by facility management and state and federal laws.
