Technical Operations/Maintenance

Technical Operations includes the maintenance, repair and overhaul of our aircraft. This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more

Job overview and responsibilities

Reporting to Manager or Shift Manager, represent the station Technical Operations department in a professional manner while interacting and coordinating with other departments in the Station Operations Center, Aircraft Routing, Aircraft Dispatch, and Flight Crews

  • Receive and coordinate the recovery of maintenance discrepancies initiated by inbound and outbound flight crews

  • Coordinate and track the recovery of scheduled deferred items

  • Notify and communicate the status of aircraft that are out of service or on a maintenance delay to Maintenance Control and Local Operations

  • Coordinate and track planned maintenance efforts for thru flights

  • Initiate and update TOC (Technical Operations Computer System) and AMIS logs on all aircraft that are out of service, in a planned hold or have significant maintenance activities on going

  • Coordinate station supplier requirements that are required to support maintenance activities

  • Identify and communicate maintenance troubleshooting and repair procedures as required

  • Ensure delay reports are entered and compile delay data for tracking and analysis

  • This position does require one to have the ability to work rotating shifts

Required

  • High School Diploma, GED or education equivalent

  • 5 years in the aircraft maintenance industry

  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations and applicable FAA regulations

  • Contract and regulatory experience

  • Regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with United's policies

  • FAA A&P License

  • Valid state issued driver's license

  • Attendance is required at work location

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or related field, or comparable experience

  • Strong cultural awareness to build and maintain professional relationships on a global basis

  • 2 years in a leadership role within a large maintenance organization including a unionized labor workforce

  • A proven successful track record

POSITION SUMMARY: With general direction and supervision from the Maintenance Hub Manager, the Maintenance Hub Representative is responsible for all aspects of effectively directing the maintenance provider to ensure all operational goals and objectives are met. This position is responsible to ensure reliable airworthy aircraft in conjunction with a safe and efficient operation. The Maintenance Hub Representative is accountable for assisting with the hub's performance and responsible for assisting with the oversight of all company assets. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Fosters and promotes Safety as a core element of the maintenance department. • Ensure all procedures outlines in the Air Wisconsin GMM are followed and executed • Provides oversight to assure the terms of the vendor commercial agreement are being met and adhered to. • Accountable and responsible for ensuring the Maintenance Provider maintains the required staffing and this staff is trained, current and proficient. • Ability to coach and mentor the Maintenance Provider to further advance their effectiveness and enhance Air Wisconsin's goals and objectives. • Ensures efficient scheduling of personnel and use of assigned resources to provide maximum, effective productivity. • Facilitates and coordinates maintenance operations within the Hub. (Including, quality control and assurance inspection, avionics, and stores activities.) • Ensures the Hub is operated in compliance with FAA, OSHA, TSA and EPA regulations and Company policies and procedures. • Ensures availability and serviceability of required tooling and equipment at the Hub. • Provides oversight to ensure complete, legible and accurate records are maintained. • Provides a daily review with the Maintenance provider of all operating and Hub performance parameters. • Approves any costs associated within the parameters of the commercial agreement including to approval and verification of costs associated with hangar rental. • Attendance is considered an essential responsibility. • Adherence to all company policies and procedures. Requirements Job Requirements: • Associate degree in aviation management or engineering preferred. • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License (required).* • Three to five years supervisory experience in a FAR Part 121 Air Carrier operations preferred. • Good working knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
