ABB is seeking Hub Controller for it's Mount Pleasant , PA location. This position reports directly to the Sr. Vice President for Power Grids High Voltage Power Hub and functionally (dotted line) to the Controller of the Global High Voltage Business Unit. This position is a member of the Hub leadership team and is responsible for the financial management of the HUB, including coordination and direction of the accounting, budget and strategic planning, staffing, and all other activities necessary for a successful financial function. Support and serve as a Consultant and Advisor to Hub management.

Tasks:

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assure compliance and enforcement of Corporate, BU, country and Division specific finance directives and instructions, including the Group Accounting and Reporting Guidelines.

  • Identify risks and assure proper risk management procedures are in place.

  • Direct and support the hub in strategic planning and implementation of agreed to programs and plans.

  • Direct and support the hub in budgeting and implementation of agreed to programs and plans to achieve these budgets.

  • Direct and support the hub in financial analysis and forecasting to provide management information, then follow with direct actions and provide tools that facilitate implementation of actions to achieve performances as planned.

  • Serve as a Consultant and Advisor to hub management.

  • Represent the hub in Senior Management Meetings and play a key role in developing and implementing hub actions and strategies.

  • Deploy Corporate, BU, Division, and hub specific guidelines and common processes.

  • Ensure hub procedures and controls are in place as necessary to satisfy Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs), and assure implementation and use to improve business performance.

  • Perform analysis and reviews of proposals, performances, and actions within the hub, and recommend next steps.

  • Evaluate and follow-up investment, divestment, and restructuring projects.

  • Assure proper financial reporting as required for the hub.

  • Push continuous improvements and cost reductions.

  • Ensure optimization of resources within the ABB financial organization, including coordination and cooperation with shared service centers.

  • Provide for leadership, development and succession planning of the finance and controlling resources in the hub.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in finance/business/accounting with 12 years of finance/accounting operational experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in finance or MBA preferred.

  • CPA is not necessary but is a plus.

  • This position requires a broad knowledge of diverse financial functions in manufacturing and general business.

  • The complex financial and related responsibilities of this position require exceptional analytical, decision making and planning skills plus the ability to be strategic leader and innovator.

  • Understanding ABB financial and business processes and structure is preferred.

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Can be assigned to multiple medium-sized project (maximum 3 projects) or to a single large project. 2019-01-01 Senior professionals ( > 5 years of work experience) Tasks: Typical duties/responsibilities for finance may include, but are not limited to, the following: * Reviews and takes joint responsibility with Tender Manager on financial, commercial and tax aspects. Ensures that tender calculation is done correctly, prepares cash-flow and exposure curve. Participates or provides input to negotiations on contractual terms and conditions (clients, consortia, subcontractors, suppliers). Participates and provides input in local risk review process. * Prepares a Project Financial Execution Plan (as part of an overall Project Execution Plan covering all financial, commercial and tax aspects such as permanent establishment, revenue recognition methods, billing plan, payment securities, consortium administration, import duties and VAT, etc.). Is responsible for the correctness of project balance sheet and income statement as well as for cash flow and monthly/quarterly forecast. Prepares project invoices, manages currency risk, tax issues, financial accounting and reporting (including project site accounting), drives project cash flow and ensures compliance with project financing requirements. * Establishes project governance process. Participates in opportunity/risk identification, ensure that all required mitigation actions are timely implemented. Drives, co-ordinates and prepares monthly project reviews jointly with the Project Manager. Reviews and takes joint responsibility with the Project Manager for project cost reports including estimates to complete and project schedule. * Promotes commercial awareness in the project team and provides commercial input to the project execution plan (such as T&Cs in supply management, claims, back-to-back conditions). Drives claim management, back-charges and insurance cases and monitors the proper follow up together with the Contract Manager/Project Manager upstream (towards customer), side-stream (towards consortia partner) as well as downstream (towards suppliers). * Follows up on internal project audit reports and ensures timely implementation of all required actions related to projects under responsibility. Is responsible for adherence to: corporate governance, integrity, assurance, internal control, group charter, country specific finance directives and instructions. * Drives setup and closure of permanent establishment and branch offices where required for the project. Is responsible jointly with the Tax function for timely filing of financial/tax reports of project branches. * Supervises on a project basis Site Controllers – depending on the size and complexity of the project.
