The HSE Specialist will provide help and support in relation to all HSE matters within the Navigation CWI Manufacturing facility, ensuring best practices and adherence to all HSE/Legal requirements
Facilitates implementation of basic HSE program requirements within the HSE Management System to ensure practical, cost-effective measures are in place within the workplace
Ensures a Safety Culture exists to ensure employees are accountable and responsible for health, safety and environmental conditions and practices
Conducts safety and/or environmental audits and inspects facilities within area of responsibility to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory laws
Monitors and actions all HSE compliance training requirements for employees under area of responsibility
Conducts orientations, visits work sites, and distributes literature to implement and promote safety and/or environmental policies and procedures
Presents information and responds to questions or concerns from employees, managers, clients and the general public
Supports the manufacturing groups with promotion of HSE performance/awareness and general projects to improve HSE
Supports accident/incident investigations and is responsible for compliance of reporting both internally and to external bodies
Manages site waste disposal functions for a Small Quantity Waste Generator
Support the continual maintenance of risk assessments/health hazards
Responsibility in conjunction with Plant Managers for compliance with HSE policies (for example - emergency evacuation processes, confined space entry procedures, etc.)
Deliver HSE training/awareness sessions as appropriate
Handles special projects, as assigned
Any Other Duties as Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge or experience
0 - 2 years HSE experience
GSP/ASP/CSP or CIH Certification would be preferred but not essential
Experience and/or knowledge with TCEQ Waste Handling requirements/Hazard Communication standards/Risk Identification/Culture Transformation
Skills in the use of Microsoft Office packages
Communication skills, such as use of communicating by electronic means, face to face and over the phone, with both internal and external parties
Ability to work to deadlines
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team environment
Analytical & Problem solving skills
Ability to plan and prioritize workloads coupled with ability to work under pressure
Ability to be flexible when required
