JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to assist in the development of procedures and operational guidance within the HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides support for monitoring injury, illness, and incident related performance. Supports the development and implementation of strategic solutions that will improve the performance results as required.

Provides health, safety and environmental regulatory compliance support and reports findings, concerns, and deficiencies. Responds to client/customer/member concerns regarding HSE matters.

Supports cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives as directed.

Supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Client Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and client policies and procedures.

May act as a HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) subject matter resource for the field.

Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Minimum 2 years of HSE related experience.

Fundamental knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety and environmental regulations is essential is preferred.

Experience working in manufacturing, construction, and facility maintenance and management is preferred.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

As required by local authority (if required).

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with a sense of urgency.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

As a Clinical Informatics Specialist you need to know how to: * Assist with electronic medical record (EMR)/ Clinical Applications maintenance and optimization in joint venture with site end-users, director, managers and IST analysts/Clinical Informatics * Evaluate workflow and Epic system integration * Collaborate with end-users to cultivate ideas for the EMR * Evaluate the workflow and Epic system integration * Provide communication of any changes in production, overall system upgrades or enhancements to ensure an effective flow of information through the organization * Build collaborative relationships with clinical and ancillary areas to facilitate an integrated electronic medical record * Assess and identify risk and issues throughout all aspects of the EMR application * Evaluate EMR problems by completing a workflow observation and printing HIPAA compliant screen shots, completing a heat ticket, and submitting the request through the site Clinical Informatics Manager * Research and provide analysis for other Clinical Applications as needed * Be highly involved in supporting and promoting the EPIC project as well as other Clinical Applications as needed * Provide clinical patient documentation assistance to providers and care staff * Provide medication and other order entry assistance for providers and care staff * Provide providers and care staff with end-user just in time support and education reinforcement * Make intention rounds within the facility to inquire of any issues, seek input for change, and observe workflows * Provide the organization with in-person EMR support, phone, and computer remote * Demonstrate commitment to providing outstanding customer service * Be responsible for providing 24/7 end user support as needed in collaboration with other Clinical Informatics Specialists * Use adult learning principles to explain the "how–to-do-it" process of using the EMR * Assist the providers and care staff with EMR/ Clinical Applications functionality/trouble-shooting * Ensure timely resolution of day to day issues as identified by the end-users – assist in determining whether the EMR/ Clinical Applications issues is a process issue, performance issue or product issue Your experience.
