POSITION SUMMARY: This role will support the region/business Health, Safety and Environmental program by executing HSE initiatives in partnership with facility leadership at assigned locations. The Regional HSE Manager, through extensive travel and virtual meetings, will provide "hands-on" oversight and assistance in the development, implementation and coordination of health, safety and environmental programs and policies. Reporting to the Regional Director of HSE in the Americas, together they will work to ensure corporate goal attainment as well as compliance with all applicable regulations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proactively provides daily hands-on support in areas such as: Health, Safety and Environmental Procedure implementation (Corporate and site specific), behavioral safety processes, corporate safety mandates, problem analysis/troubleshooting, and interpretation of applicable regulatory regulations.
Acts as a support resource in the development and review of facility specific HSE training needs analysis, operational reviews and new equipment assessments.
Supports sites incident reporting process to ensures effective investigation, reporting, corrective actions, and best practice sharing throughout the business.
Coach and mentor managers in HSE techniques and HSE leadership skills
Lead the Ergonomics Program for the region.
Implement and lead the risk assessment program including Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), FMEA, amongst others.
Lead internal audits to ensure compliance to local, federal and West requirements. Track actions to confirm completion.
Establish agreement and alignment with site operating goals and objectives with Corporate.
Monitor sites for adherence to HSE guidelines/regulations, identify and support to resolve risks.
Provide planning related to HSE objectives and compliance, lead site in planning for HSE success.
Understand, implement, report and monitor HSE and regulatory compliance metrics
Research and write applicable HSE procedures and policies in alignment to site needs and corporate expectations.
Participates in other key HSE initiatives as assigned by the Director of HSE.
Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and/or environmental studies, engineering, or other science related field.
8-10 years of direct HSE experience including OSHA and EPA compliance, behavior-based safety, process hazard and risk analysis, root cause evaluation, incident management, standards and procedural development, auditing, and training.
Strong experience on incident investigation and risk assessments.
Pharmaceutical industry or manufacturing experience preferred.
Strong organizational & planning skills.
Excellent analytical skills & problem-solving skills.
Proficient with technology such as excel, PowerPoint, Word and other standard computer applications.
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (oral & written), able to interact with all levels in the organization
