Summary/Objective

We are currently looking for an HSE Manager, Canada to join the Market Area, North & Central America's QEHS organization. You will preferably be located in Quebec, Canada, but other Canadian locations may be considered. The focus of the market area QEHS organization is to drive the implementation, compliance, target setting and training of topics such as sustainability, quality, environment, health and safety throughout the entire market area, covering both local and corporate initiatives. The purpose of this role in particular is to develop the safety performance and awareness in Canada, by sharing best practices and investigating incidents.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordination and implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies and programs in compliance with legal requirements, company standards and customer site requirements.

  • Supporting market area teams in developing a proactive health, safety and environment culture.

  • Maintenance of QEHS management system accreditations and ensuring QEHS performance.

  • Supporting country/market area teams in HSE and compliance matters. Monitoring and consolidating HSE reporting.

  • Preventing Health, Safety and Environmental incidents in Market Area operations by sharing and auditing safety standards and common safety procedures.

  • Supporting the business in investigating incidents and providing corrective and preventing action support.

  • Conducting HSE audits, inspections, risk assessment, JSA and environmental aspects reviews.

  • Ensuring facility/premises compliance in line with Environment and OHS Act & Reg.

In order to be successful in this role we are looking for a self-motivated candidate who is able to establish and achieve objectives independently. You will have excellent problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to providing superior customer service. You are motivated and driven to continuously improve safety standards, and are able to do so by leveraging your advanced knowledge in QEHS safety systems, your good communication skills and ability to influence decisions and lead change.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Safety, Environment, Business Administration or equivalent.

  • +5 years of professional experience.

  • Advanced experience in HSE risk management functions.

  • Experience in leading HSE functions and development.

  • Experience with Environment and OHS regulations.

  • Strong experience with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 management system.

  • Willingness to travel 20 - 30% of the time.

  • Internal Auditor Certification (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) is an asset.

  • CSP certification is an asset

Job Summary: The EHS Manager manages and coordinates EHS within a site to ensure all regulatory provisions and Safran Group reference systems are being applied. They also manage the creation and implementation of the local EHS improvement plan and advise and support site management and operational staff to promote employee health, safety and environmental performance.
