Position Title: HSE Advisor

External Description:

We are currently seeking an HSE Advisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Order suspension of activities that pose threats to workers' health and safety.

  • Recommend measures to operations management and HSE leadership to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.

  • Investigates and facilitates root cause analysis (RCA) of incidents, high potential near-miss events, and safety concerns raised by employees to evaluate, identify causes and to determine preventive measures

  • Facilitates or manages (captures) all documentation including the investigation and behavior justification model from RCA meeting.

  • Support and participate in behavior based safety program

  • Support and assist operations in the institutionalization of Key Energy's Safety Management System

  • Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, practices, credentials, licenses and/or permits in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.

  • Ensure employees in functional areas follow established procedures and ensure company compliance with federal, state and local regulations

  • Provides support for operation's safety meetings

  • Researches and recommends safety equipment, programs and procedures

  • Responsible for maintenance of incident and accident records and other applicable documentation in accordance with HSE policy, regulations, requirements and practices

  • Helps implement, monitor, and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Provides guidance to management and employees on local, state, and federal regulations

  • Attends designated contractor safety meetings to discuss safety issues and concerns

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent related work experience or a combination of education and experience

  • Five or more years experience in safety related field in oil or heavy industry

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations

  • Familiarity with API and other industry recommended practices, policies and procedures

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and business intelligence applications (OBIEE, etc.).

  • Knowledge of industry safety training (First Aid/CPR, Confined Space, etc.).

VIEW JOBS 4/4/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-03T00:00 JOB SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Service Line HSE Manager, the Service Line Field HSE Advisor is responsible for fostering a culture of health and safety by regularly attending field sites to promote the safety culture, advise on issues and ensure compliance to company programs, policies, and procedures regarding occupational health, safety and environmental matters. The Service Line Field HSE Advisor will develop strong communications with field supervisors, service supervisors, field personnel, and managers (District, Division) while supporting assigned areas. AS PART OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS, PLEASE ENSURE: Application is complete Detailed 10 years of work history with no gaps Updated resume Accurate driver history form For military upload DD214 for service verification ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following: * Field Work * Within assigned Service Line, conducts site HSE audits, inspections, observations, verification and validation engagements and required follow‐up on corrective/preventative measures; * Works with District/HSE Management, supervisors, and others to provide periodic feedback from site inspections and may offer employee mentoring, coaching and guidance in making safe choices while working; * May conduct site HSE meetings, toolbox talks, etc. to share HSE performance, incidents and trend analysis information; * Maintains and submits documentation necessary to provide periodic field feedback (Field HSE Audits, BISON Observations, Daily or Weekly Positive/Opportunity reports, V&V engagement reports, etc.) * May participate in and support incident reporting and investigations, if necessary. * Communication * Maintain open communication with key stakeholders on all site HSE related issues; * Monitor trends and report results to key stakeholders; * Prepare and submit documentation necessary to provide periodic field feedback (Field Safety Audits, BISON Observations, Daily or Weekly Positive/Opportunity reports, V&V engagement reports, etc.); * Collaborate and discuss daily findings and issues with the field/service supervisor and HSE representative for the site on all HSE related issues; * May participate in and support incident reporting and investigations, if necessary. * Travel * CPS Service Line HSE Advisor will be expected to spend the majority of their time travelling to and from, and working on, field sites. Overnight travel is required and region visit schedules will be determined by the Service Line HSE Manager. * Must be available to work outside of normal business hours including evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary. * Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: COMPETENCIES: Education/Experience * High School Diploma or GED required. * An Associate's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or 5 years related experience in Hydraulic Fracturing preferred; a combination of education and experience is acceptable. Language Skills * Professional and courteous demeanor; strong written and interpersonal communication skills required and the ability to challenge constructively. Computer Skills * Must be able to use a Windows‐based personal computer and associated office productivity suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Demonstrated skills with HSE functional software such as incident reporting systems, audit/inspection systems, including the use of a tablet or smartphone.
