Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated high school social studies teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about educating young minds in the field of social studies, fostering critical thinking, and promoting active engagement in the subject matter.
Qualifications:
1.Bachelors degree in education, social studies, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
2.Valid teaching certification/license in social studies (or eligibility to obtain certification/license).
3.Previous experience teaching social studies at the high school level preferred.
4.Strong content knowledge in various areas of social studies.
5.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6.Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
7.Proficiency in integrating technology into classroom instruction.
8.Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
9.Dedication to continuous professional growth and improvement.
Performance Responsibilities:
1.Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in various areas of social studies, including but not limited to history, geography, civics, economics, and psychology.
2.Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
3.Employ a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
4.Integrate technology effectively into classroom instruction to enhance learning outcomes.
5.Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
6.Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and projects that promote deeper understanding of social studies concepts.
7.Stay abreast of current events, historical trends, and pedagogical best practices in social studies education.
8.Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching skills and content knowledge.
9.Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators regarding student progress, academic concerns, and classroom activities.
Foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and civic responsibility among students through meaningful discussions and activities.
Supervise extracurricular activities such as clubs, academic competitions, and field trips related to social studies.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and other pertinent student information.
