HS English Teacher

The teacher will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an instructional program that provides students with the necessary skills to master the North Carolina English Language Arts Standards. The teacher will create a positive and challenging learning environment, foster students' critical thinking and analytical skills, and encourage a love for literature and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development: Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for English Language Arts.

• Instructional Delivery: Employ a variety of teaching methods to engage students in the learning process, including lectures, group discussions, projects, and technology-enhanced activities.

• Assessment and Evaluation: Evaluate students' progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.

• Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, emphasizing mutual respect and cooperation.

• Individualized Instruction: Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special needs or English language learners.

• Parental Communication: Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding students' progress, behavior, and academic concerns.

• Professional Development: Stay informed about educational trends, attend professional development opportunities, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies.

• Cultural Competence: Foster an understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures and perspectives within the classroom.

• Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and clubs to support students' holistic development.
