Job Description:


Responsible for providing a variety of human resources and safety services (i.e. training, employee relations, recruiting, etc.) for the facility.


  • Conducts safety and new hire orientations:

  • Demonstrates in-dept knowledge of course content.

  • Creates and maintains an orderly class.

  • Set up of class room for delivery of various courses.

  • Responds to questions as they arise during the class and seeks answers if unsure of the correct response.

  • Starting and finishing courses on time scheduled times.

  • Mark and remediate tests.

  • Ensures all requires form are properly completed.

  • Responsible for updating and distributing data:

  • Prepares work to be processed by gathering, sorting, organizing, and recording data, information, and documents.

  • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information; responding to requests.

  • Coordinates and manages hourly performance reviews.

  • Responsible for recruiting hourly employees. Oversees and participates in employment activities to ensure that properly qualified employees are recruited and hired. Maintains the applicant tracking system and ensures timely communication with candidates.

  • Conducts exit interviews.

  • Provides administrative support for all employees.

  • Coordinates employee meetings and events as required.

  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner.

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures (i.e. dress code, arrive to work on time, etc.)

  • Participates in the development, interpretation and communication of Human Relations Programs and policies/procedures.

  • Ensures compliance with state, federal, and local laws.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Safety, or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2-4 years generalist and/or safety experience.

  • Ability to work and communicate with all levels of management and a broad general understanding of the business function.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Excellent listening, observing, and questioning skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities.

  • Critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Detail oriented/organized; strong follow-through.

  • Microsoft Office user including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.

VIEW JOBS 2/27/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-05-28T00:00 Job Description MISSION: Fosters, directly and indirectly, by action, example and training, a comprehensive safety program throughout the PCC Structurals plant. Monitors potential health and safety conditions of the workplace; identifies problems, recommends solutions, and ensures that the on-going safety system is corrected to incorporate the changes. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Participates in the development of plant-wide safety goals and objectives. Develops recommendations for improvement of safety procedures, practices and activities that support these goals and objectives. 2. Develops and implements, through supervisors and managers, an effective safety performance tracking and measurement system. Collaborates on a scheduled basis with management/departments to interpret the results and effect the corrective actions. 3. Provides supervision and safety committees with safety procedures, manuals, directives and other required information relative to safety. Serves as internal facilitator in using these tools to achieve the desired safety goals and objectives. 4. Collaborates with line supervision and safety committees in the development of required revisions to existing procedures, rules and regulation. Works with the Workers' Comp. Manager to effect the changes. 5. Keeps abreast with technical developments and OSHA related regulations that affect the safety considerations for operations. Incorporates new information into existing operations, where applicable. 6. Takes part in review of all serious disabling injuries/fatalities. Responsible for effective operations record keeping and OSHA document compliance. 7. Serves as a member/advisor of operations safety committee for special duties and surveys. 8. Collaborates with supervision in the administration of the Light Duty Work Program and in the assignment of eligible employees in accordance with established practices. 9. Collaborates with Engineering and Maintenance departments regarding outside contractors' safety requirements. 10. Designs and develops various motivational safety training programs for managerial and hourly personnel. 11. Discusses complaints and suggestions received in writing relating to safety conditions with affected supervision. 12. By observation of physical conditions and work practices, detects lack of conformity with the Loss Control Program and follows up with the appropriate supervisor. 13. Provides technical training on observing unsafe acts to management and supervision, and monitors the training effectiveness. 14. May be required to handle hazardous waste. 15. May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Management training. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, plus 5-8 years of related and progressively more complex experience. 2. Proven ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. 3. Proven ability to accomplish results in a collaborative environment.
