Job Description

BBSI is experiencing a steady rate of growth and is looking for an HR/Payroll Administrative Support person for its Bakersfield office. This person will have experience using business software applications (e.g., word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet) to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc. This person will receive/screen candidates, directs incoming calls, visitors, mail, email, maintain files, records, calendars, and miscellaneous information, while also arranging business events coordinate meeting arrangements, and/or track expenses.

General Duties:

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic and creative as well as analytical and detail oriented.

  • Performs general administrative duties for department as required (i.e., filing, faxing, emailing, making copies, courier, etc.).

  • Provides administrative support to department staff members by preparing correspondence and documents (i.e., paychecks, memos, presentations, etc.).

  • Schedules meetings, plans events, resolves time conflicts, and coordinates needed meetings and events.

  • Prepares and maintains payroll, statistical records, human resources data and reports on pertinent department information.

  • Assists with prioritizing daily work routine around key deliverables and daily agenda.

Requirements:

  • Results-oriented, accountable, and highly organized

  • Strong client service orientation, preferably with customer service work experience.

  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.

  • Data entry and file maintenance.

  • Printing of payroll checks

  • Maintain office and order supplies.

  • Answer phones and provide professional communication.

  • Effective communicator with individuals at all levels of an organization.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Exceptional time management skills.

  • Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to use your own vehicle, proof of automobile insurance meeting BBSI coverage criteria.

Other Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Diploma

  • Associate Degree

  • Preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 2 years of experience in payroll & human resources

Work Hours:

Tuesday

  • Thursday 8:00 am

  • 5:00 pm (24 hrs. per week)

Pay Rate: $18 - $22 per hr. (DOE)
