TITLE

Lead, HRIS - Talent, Learning and Recruiting

LOCATION

Orrville, OH (Close proximity to Cleveland/Akron)

REPORTS TO

Director, HRIS

POSITION SUMMARY

The HRIS Lead supports HR systems with the technical expertise to configure, troubleshoot, and maintain talent, learning and recruiting solutions. Partners with the HRIS team and guides the HR Center of Excellence owners and functional team members to deploy Workday projects for the organization. Assures operations and deliverables meet or exceed organizational objectives, follow HR strategies, and integrates as appropriate with other organizational functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the owner and develop subject matter expertise for key Workday system functionalities, business processes and configuration within the Talent, Learning and Recruiting areas

  • Monitors upcoming functionality based on Workday delivered road maps to ensure current state plans support future capabilities

  • Work closely with HR leadership and HR COEs to participate in key business initiatives, enabled through new or existing Workday functionalities

  • Champion an innovative and agile mindset across HR constructively challenge the status quo

  • Develop Proof of Concept efforts for new or significant changes to proposed functionalities

  • Apply consistent principles and standards for cross application elements

  • Troubleshoots, analyzes, identifies, and corrects technical problems and deficiencies

  • Manages portfolio of projects and works with HR and/or business areas to prioritize work requests

  • Solicit buy-in by key stakeholders of recommended solutions

  • Accountable for defining, planning, scheduling, and executing against assigned projects/programs; create deliverables such as test plans and project plans; support change management efforts

  • Provide technical input and recommendations during the project planning phase

  • Identify implementation risks, potential impacts and appropriate solutions

  • Identify and appropriately escalate issues in a timely manner

  • Regularly communicate status updates to project team members

  • Ensure proposed Workday solutions are scalable and manageable

  • Prioritize and track the status of multiple ongoing projects within the team

  • Work within the HRIS team to promote and lead the execution of quality standards, peer review, and documentation

  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, stakeholders and team members

  • Elevate the system competencies of the HR organization by promoting best practices in data usage, standard practices and reporting within the native Workday system

  • Develops and provides access to reports, assisting in creation of report library. Provides perspectives and insight in addition to report output. Creates ad hoc reports for management in select situations.

  • Works independently, assisting team with special tasks such as the development and delivery of training or assisting with audit processes

SELECTION CRITERIA

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience/training
  • 5+ years of HR, IS or comparable experience in roles of increasing responsibility
  • 3+ years of HRIS experience Workday required

Experience

  • Experience as lead/owner of significant system or system functionality preferred

  • Experience configuring Talent, Learning or Recruiting systems

  • Experience coordinating and/or managing HR technology projects preferred

  • Experience working with a shared service center environment preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft tools and applications required

  • Basic understanding of general HR processes, procedures, controls, regulations, and compliance requirements

Other

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills required. Attention to detail a must

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills to communicate with customers, peers, and vendors

  • An ability to work under significant pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity to compliance-related matters

  • Able to process complex information and identify solutions that meet both internal and business partner requirements

  • Demonstrate ability to handle ambiguity and fluid situations, demonstrating a pragmatic approach

  • A sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution
