Job Description:

The HCM Software Engineer is responsible for the strategy and implementation of the Human Capital Management (HCM) cloud platform. This role works across HR Technology, HR Service Delivery, and the entire HR community to ensure the correct solution is in place to support JPMC's 250,000 employees across the globe.

This role is responsible for providing the leadership and expertise to drive solutions that meet HR business needs. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven leadership in enterprise application architecture, information architecture, functional knowledge, client engagement, and the application of emerging technologies.

The candidate will support the transition for our Global Human Resources organization by ensuring we take advantage of the capabilities gained with the HCM platform and will partner closely with Global Business Process Owners, Process Leads, Regional Leads, and our implementation partner to configure the application for go-live. This includes new functionality, quarterly product releases, ongoing system configuration, and interface requirements.

An understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you'll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.

The ideal candidate will possess strong operations, technology, and execution skills along with exceptional leadership, client and relationship management skills. The candidate must have proven successes in balancing long term visionary planning capabilities with the ability to create, practical, actionable plans that are coherent and understood by all stakeholders. Beyond excellent operations and technology skills, the ideal candidate will be an innovative, commercially inclined leader to create genuine business value through the alignment of technology, data and business interests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Business Architects and Process Owners to ensure policy and processes are supported and sustainable in the HCM platform.

  • Accountable for the system configuration, performance, and testing for one or more modules.

  • Provide data conversion specifications and interface requirements to technical teams.

  • Manage product enhancement requests with Oracle and partner with Oracle product leads on functional roadmaps

  • Ensure the business is prepared for quarterly releases and new functionality driven by Oracle

  • Develop automated testing for product and lead business partners through testing new functionality

  • Oversee key 3rd party relationships that provide either direct employee service or tools/infrastructure used by internal service groups

  • Work with delivery teams to offer additional solutions via mobile

  • Work with various HR & JPMC functional groups to analyze business needs to provide appropriate, innovative, and cost effective solutions

  • Evaluate technologies for inclusion in forward-looking technology strategies

  • Assist development teams with design and product architecture

  • Analyze technology issues and propose short, mid and long-term solutions

  • Work with other senior technology leaders to propose technical solutions and help craft architecture & technology roadmap

  • 5+ years of experience in software development and design or large-scale, complex global operations

  • Experience implementing payroll and/or timekeeping systems such as ADP or Kronos

  • Operational experience in payroll or timekeeping a plus

  • Strong experience managing vendor platforms including system configuration, functional roadmaps, and testing

  • Data analysis skills and the ability to extract, analyze, and transform data

  • Functional expertise and the ability to tie business requirements to system functionality

  • Understanding of the relationship between data, business requirements, and system functionality

  • Experience with test script creation, execution, and automation

  • Experience deploying capabilities for large service-driven organizations

  • Background in client relationships, especially in managing senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams

  • Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, and software engineering processes and tools

  • Strong communication skills along with a team-oriented attitude

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • Experience in working with both onshore and offshore teams

  • Excellent technical problem solving and technical writing skills

  • Able to establish new technical direction; establish clear technical vision and a roadmap to implement that vision

  • Ability to manage multiple high profile initiatives concurrently
