What you'll be doing
The Human Resources Business Partner is an integral part of the HR team, and plays a key role in supporting organization effectiveness and building organizational capability. This is an opportunity for a highly motivated, self-directed individual to gain experience in a fast-paced, dynamic, global organization.
This role is responsible for ensuring that HR programs support business objectives in areas such as recruiting and onboarding, training and development, employee relations, and rewards. HRBPs collaborate with members of the HR team across locations and geographies, Tableau's HR centers of expertise, and other key stakeholders to meet objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture. Successful candidates will have experience in global software/tech-enabled companies, the ability to make decisions using data, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Some of the things you'll be doing include...
Partner with managers to ensure alignment and support of business goals through HR programs and initiatives
Provide employee relations support in matters including (but not limited to) coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, and performance management
Support client group managers and partner across teams to align on employee engagement efforts including (but not limited to) onboarding, retention, training, and career development
Support planning, communication and/or training for various events in the employee life cycle within the client organization, including (but not limited to) annual reviews, compensation planning, workforce moves and reorganizations, and career development initiatives
Partner with leaders to address people and organizational risk by monitoring overall employee satisfaction; provide coaching and feedback to managers and employees to positively impact turnover and retention
Analyze and leverage data in areas such as employee engagement, retention, and attrition to provide recommendations to stakeholders
Collaborate with leaders to develop and maintain a consistent talent review process and facilitate employee career development plans
Partner with Recruiting to coach managers on recruiting processes, talent pipelining, job descriptions, onboarding effectiveness; participates in interview loops and debriefs
Actively support diversity and inclusion initiatives, and help ensure they are integrated in program offerings and workforce decisions
Work with Compensation to assess and make compensation recommendations for internal transfers, promotions, and other pay adjustments; help evaluate and manage compensation exceptions
Identify gaps in policy and services; help to develop and roll out out policy changes and ensure business adoption and/or understanding of changes
Understand and counsel the business regarding employment law and legislation changes
Recruitment: Tableau hires company builders; employees are expected to be on the constant lookout for the best talent to bring onboard, helping Tableau continue to build one of the best companies in the world

Who you are
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including performance management, talent retention and engagement, training and development, talent acquisition, compensation practices, and diversity
Experience with complex employee relations issues
Experience working in heavily matrixed global business environments with intersecting reporting structures
Self-motivated and able to work independently, while also collaborating and communicating as an active member of distributed business and HR teams
Ability to influence various levels of leadership without direct authority, exercising tact and diplomacy
Strong planning, execution and multitasking skills; able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines
Ability to manage ambiguity and collaborate across the organization in a manner that is focused on finding solutions
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a drive to provide exceptional service to business partners
Strong listening skills and ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees of all levels in the organization
Knowledge of relevant legislative and compliance frameworks
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience required; PHR preferred
5+ years' HR Generalist and/or Business Partner experience
Experience working in a high growth company preferred
