Position Summary

As a summer intern with South Jersey Industries, your role will include assisting the Human Resources Compensation and Benefits department. You will work with Compensation and Benefits team members on various projects and Total Rewards initiatives to help the organization continue to grow while gaining valuable hands-on experience. This is going to be a great learning opportunity.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists Compensation and Benefits Team with Total Rewards related initiatives.

  • Conduct market research to gather information on industry trends related to compensation and benefits.

  • Analyze total rewards data and develop reports to support decision making.

  • Analyze and review compensation and benefits elements for accuracy in employee total rewards information.

  • Perform compensation and benefit benchmarking to assess current competitive practices.

  • Support the team in identifying ways to improve employee engagement as it relates to Total Rewards initiatives.

  • Assist with developing and delivering presentations in support of key projects.

  • Assists in providing metrics regarding competitive trends in compensation and benefits.

  • Support the project management of numerous projects ensuring milestones are maintained and stakeholders informed.

Required Skills:

  • Analytical skills required.

  • Microsoft office and Excel skills required.

  • Must be detailed oriented and organized.

  • Research skills, self-starter, and problem solver.

  • Must be able to collaborate with all levels in the organization.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent computer skills, a professional demeanor, with a strong sense of commitment and the ability to evaluate complex information.

Qualifications

Required Background:

  • The ideal candidate would be a rising Senior or master's student, but all students are welcome for consideration.

  • Would prefer a student in pursuit of a Human Resources or Business degree.
