Human Resources Specialist III, Leadership Development

This position is a key contributor to the Ball Aerospace talent and organizational development (T&OD) department. The position performs a variety of leadership development activities serving a portfolio of offerings such as emerging leaders, foundational leadership programs, internal development tools, and leadership 360 assessments.

What you'll do:

  • Assess, design, facilitate and evaluate foundational, emerging and other leadership-oriented programming and interventions to improve leadership effectiveness.

  • Consult and partner with stakeholders, managers, SMEs, HR Business Partners and T&OD team members on development needs and approaches.

  • Identify and evaluate related metrics and goals to continuously improve offerings.

  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships across the company.

  • Coordinate day to day execution of services and offerings in leadership development portfolio.

  • Facilitate or co-facilitate learning events in person or virtually.

  • Develop and implement post-training sustainment and measurement events/tools.

  • Develop leadership development processes and tools.

  • Share and grow knowledge; research trends and remain current with learning techniques and methods.

  • Conduct both one to one and group coaching to improve leadership effectiveness.

  • Support other strategic facilitation requests as needed.

  • Meet criteria required to satisfy periodic internal and external audits.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What you'll need:

  • BS/BA degree in Training, Business Administration, Human Resources Management or a related field plus 4 or more years of related experience. Advanced degree in Human Resources, Learning or Organizational Development is preferred.

  • Each higher-level degree, i.e. Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Two years of related experience may be substituted for each year of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

  • 4 or more years of experience in a progressive learning and talent development environment; broad HR experience is a plus.

  • Track record in designing and delivering leadership programming at a variety of levels: team lead, supervisory, and mid-level leaders.

  • Familiarity with assessment tools and surveys.

  • Strong coaching and facilitation skills.

  • Excellent writing, presentation, communication, influence, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization.

  • Customer service orientation and commitment to quality, responsibility, high work standards and initiative.

  • Detail oriented, highly motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Avid learner and actively seeks and implements feedback to continuously grow and develop self.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and training tools.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment.

  • Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

VIEW JOBS 1/9/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-08T00:00 Description Under general supervision, to collaborate and serve in the Public Works Administrative Services workgroup to provide quality and efficient internal and external customer service and coordinate, oversee and provide direct customer, project and administrative support in the Public Works Department, and to perform related duties as required. Is fully cross-trained in all Public Works administrative support functions, and provides work direction and training to Administrative Specialists IIs, and performs audits of their work when appropriate. Provides the primary support role to the Facilities and Asset Management (FAM) and Fleet teams, overseeing the work of other administrative staff in supporting these operations when needed, and providing day-to-day program management support for the FAM maintenance work program; coordinates and performs a variety of other administrative support functions, including invoice processing; and performs related duties as required. Examples of Duties 1. Manages the day-to-day customer service work order program for FAM. * Provides direct customer service to city employees requesting FAM services. Communicates with customers on work order status and building maintenance information. * Uses discretion to prioritize, triage and assign work orders to staff. Tracks work order costs. Interfaces with maintenance staff and management to elevate issues needing attention, reprioritizes outstanding work orders as needed, communicates about status updates to customers, supervisors and managers as needed. * Notifies proper personnel and emergency services and advises customers in emergency situations such as gas leaks, electrical outages, etc. * Acts as primary contact for contracted cleaning companies. Communicates issues identified with services, updates companies' work assignments as needed and tracks performance. Evaluates the need for contracted service, acts as a liaison with contractors and staff, and tracks expenditures and progress for each job. * Assists with RFP and contract development with outside cleaning and maintenance contractors, and helps to track internal customer needs. * Helps to maintain a database of pre-qualified/contracted vendors and their insurance renewal dates. 2. Generates and maintains reports, databases and files related to city building maintenance: * Maintains database of city wide energy usage using Utility Manager Software. * Updates and maintains building assessments and walkthrough lists. * Updates and maintains current file of FAM policies. * Tracks performance measures. * Generates detailed reports (data browser) for management. 3. Maintains the security database that controls access to city facilities and track key cards, keys and combination locks. * Coordinates access for over 1,000 cardholders to more than 64 entry points. * Coordinates with security vendors, including software and hardware vendors, to ensure the access/security system is fully functional. 4. Provides financial administrative support to FAM * Evaluates and pays invoices for FAM in the city's financial system. * Tracks expenses related to work orders. * Works closely with the financial administrative specialist III and the budget analyst who support FAM and Fleet to process invoices and track expenses efficiently. 5. Monitors departmental goals/work plans and prepares status reports and updates. Schedules customer input meetings, assembles customer feedback data and tracks performance measures on behalf of FAM. 6. Provides administrative support for all team members in FAM and Fleet as needed. Manages departmental special projects, involving coordination of the work of others. * Performs ongoing evaluation of office operations to ensure that administrative support functions are efficient, cost effective and provide a high level of service to the public and City staff; identifies and implements related recommendations. * Maintains office equipment and supply stocks, coordinates with vendors to schedule repairs and proactively stocks needed office supplies. * Maintains subject files and reference library for FAM. * Supports hiring processes for FAM and Fleet, including scheduling interviews, helping to vet candidates, preparing interview materials and processing hiring forms. * Provides travel expense scheduling and support for FAM and Fleet employees, including registration assistance and approval processing. * Prepares written materials, such as email updates, memorandums and reports. * Maintains appointment calendars and schedules meetings and appointments on behalf of groups. * Provides data entry into city specific applications. 7. Works with the rest of the Public Works Administrative Services team to provide department-wide support. * As part of a collaborative team, identifies department-wide priorities and works with others to accomplish shared goals. * Provides fundamental leadership role within the Public Works Administrative Services - Sites Team that includes support staff for the Municipal Services Center, treatment plants and FAM/Fleet. Works to ensure the success of staff on this team and helps guide and backup other team-members. * Cross-trains and back-fills with other administrative staff in the Public Works Department. Trains, delegates to, or leads administrative specialist IIs to perform support duties across the department and to support FAM and Fleet operations when additional support is needed. * Understands city policies and conveys accurate information to employees and supervisors. * Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of employee information. 8. Other: * Performs related duties as required to meet the need of the City. * Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly to prevent accidents. Qualifications REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field, or any equivalent combination of education/administrative experience. A minimum of three years of progressively responsible administrative, project management or related experience. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Interest, desire, and ability to communicate courteously and effectively with the public and city staff and to provide excellent customer service both in person and over the telephone; must be courteous, patient and personable when working with the public and diverse individuals, even in difficult situations. Proofreading and editing skills, including excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills. Excellent organizational and math skills. Strong experience with word processing, database and spreadsheet software. Ability to develop and maintain accurate filing systems. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision; to prioritize and resolve problems; and to complete tasks while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment with the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work appropriately with confidential information. Valid driver's license. Have and maintain acceptable background information, including criminal conviction history and motor vehicle history. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS – In addition to the required minimum qualifications: Previous experience as a team lead and in oversight of work products for a team or supervisor experience. Experience working in an administrative support role for a municipal government. Financial and/or data processing experience. Proficient with word processing, database and spreadsheet software including Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, website and database software applications. Financial processing experience. Website design and maintenance experience. Experience in planning and organizing projects.
