  • Provides HR administrative support which includes recruitment, employment, personnel records, employee relations, regulatory reporting requirements and other areas as needed. This confidential position will support GEO Care's operating divisions and will indirectly report to Divisional HR Directors in the Residential, Community-Based and Youth Services divisions. Processes employee information and maintains employee records on HRIS system. Creates unique reports for various human resources compliance requirements and ensures the data integrity within the system by assisting with system maintenance and audits.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processes new hire and re-hire paperwork for facilities without onsite HR support.

  • Maintains job posting files and related documents, applicant files, scheduling interviews, pre-screening resumes and/or candidates prior to sending to corporate hiring managers for consideration, and the administrative processing of job offers.

  • Assists in tracking regulatory reporting requirements, including responses to charges and requests for information from governmental agencies. Maintains all files and records relating to charges and associated correspondence. These documents may be computer-based and physical.

  • Using standard or new queries, prepares and disseminates reports relating to, but not limited to, benefit costs, staffing levels, applicant tracking, Affirmative Action/EEO, absenteeism, turnover and compensation. Develops and designs special ad-hoc special reports as requested.

  • Continually performs audits of HRIS data to ensure its integrity. Works with facilities throughout the organization to transmit and correct data problems. Maintains data error reports to track problems. May develop general training for facilities to help improve data integrity.

  • Maintains HR databases of employee information and develops reports to meet management and compliance related requirements.

  • Assists in processing employee information and maintaining employee records on HRIS system.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Human Resources or Business Management required, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Bachelor's degree and PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.

  • Three to five years experience in a corporate setting with a minimum of two years experience in human resources or payroll.

  • Proficiency with HRIS, strong analytical skills and the demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Experience utilizing Infinium is highly desirable.

  • Good working knowledge and familiarity with Human Resources concepts, practices, procedures and basic employment laws required.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Focused on quality and accuracy and possess a high degree of initiative.

  • High degree of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization, understands user needs, and offer suggestions to improve their requests.

  • Must be able to handle highly sensitive data with the greatest degree of confidentiality.

  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Summary Responsible for all security and control related functions during duty shift per management instructions. Seeks to provide maximum facility coordination in prisoner supervision and safety. Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Supervises all security functions during shift as assigned by management. * Supervises the feeding of inmates/detainees during meal time. * Makes routine inspections of all security equipment, doors, gates, fences, lighting systems, and other facility equipment as needed. * Assists staff with unit counts. * Reviews reports written by officers during shift and ensures these reports are submitted as required. * Assures that officers receive on-the-job training and safety training as required. * Inspects or directs work to inspection of perimeter to test alarm systems, detect safety hazards and to ensure safety rules are posted and enforced. * Assists officers and staff with unruly inmates and other assignments as required. Investigates and reports causes of inmate/detainee disturbances. * Responds to major unusual occurrences as trained. Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to detainees/inmates in the event of injury, illness or emotional trauma. * Directs work, provides training and performs inspections of work performed by inmate/ detainee workers. Assures that inmate/detainee workers under security supervision receive safety training. * Provides management with input into decisions concerning employee performance ratings, disciplinary actions, and job assignments. * Promotes an atmosphere conducive to personality and character development of detainees/ inmates and staff through the encouragement of favorable behavior patterns, arrangement of physical facilities, and influencing relationships among detainees/inmates. * Assists in review of staff effectiveness by conducting frequent physical inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. * Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Minimum Requirements * High school diploma or equivalent certification required. * Must meet the requirements of being a Correctional Officer. * One (1) year of experience working in a correctional setting required. * Must be flexible, intellectually alert, able to command the respect and confidence of detainees/inmates and staff, possess a working knowledge of correctional laws, applicable court orders, and possess a high tolerance to mental stress. * Must have a proven work history with sound abilities to write communications, documents, policy, court room defenses, contract negotiations, and other required written correspondence. * Must be able to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions. * Ability to coordinate staffing requirements for security supervisors and officers. * Must have completed an approved training program resulting in a certificate of satisfactory completion.
