The HR Specialist

  • Benefits is responsible for ensuring the coordination of benefits enrollment and associate support for benefit related matters, maintaining employee benefit information in the HRIS system, managing self-funded monthly benefit premium remittance processes and managing relationships with benefit vendors. The HR Specialist

  • Benefits will also partner with key stakeholders in the successful integration of new associates during new business implementations.

The HR Specialist

  • Benefits will be responsible to provide back up support and relief to the HR Leave of Absence Specialist and the HR Specialist-Onboarding.

ResponsibilitiesBenefit Administration process- (75%)

  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, health spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), wellness benefits and other voluntary benefit programs.

  • Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system.

  • Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefit changes are entered appropriately in the payroll system for payroll deduction.

  • Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.

  • Using monthly census reports, calculate the monthly premiums for all self-funded group insurance policies and submit monthly remittance information timely to appropriate vendors. Maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.

  • Coordinate COBRA third party administration.

  • Assist HR leadership in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.

  • Assist HR leadership in completing benefits reporting requirements.

  • Work with HR Leave of Absence Specialist on benefit repayment process for associates who are on LOA, in addition to backing up LOA Specialist as needed. Fully understand the benefit programs offered including health, life, dental, vision, disability, vacation, leave of absence, 401(k) and employee assistance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Administrative and Special Projects- (25%)

  • As back up to HR Specialist Onboarding, required to understand on-boarding requirements and administrative processes.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure HR files are compliant with Joint Commission and all other regulatory agency requirements.

  • Prepare spreadsheets for analysis of HRIS data including retention, turnover, performance and compensation.

  • Schedule conference and meeting rooms for meetings and new hire orientation.

  • Work with other members of the HR team including HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Development on special projects as assigned.

  • Participate and assist in coordination of HR events including Lunch and Learns, teambuilding and other assigned responsibilities.

QualificationsJob Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or a related field plus 1-3 years of Human Resource experience required, or 3-5 years of Human Resources experience without degree.

  • Experience administering benefit programs required.

  • Previous knowledge and experience with leave administration preferred.

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of administrative processes, HR terminology and processes required.

  • Expert proficiency of Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required.

  • HRMS experience preferred.

  • Ability to set priorities and manage time amidst multiple tasks.

  • Ability to communicate with others at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work comfortably with higher management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong administrative skill
