Position Summary

The Human Resources Specialist is passionate about connecting people to opportunities, fostering relationships, and promoting Banner as a best place to work. This position carries out responsibilities in most functional areas with an emphasis on: full cycle recruiting, campus and school relations/recruitment, talent pipeline generation, company event planning and coordination, and other HR-related special projects.

This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manages the full cycle of recruiting for open positions within our Corporate office and field sales teams including;

  • Collaborates with manager to understand hiring needs

  • Assists in creation of job description

  • Sources top talent and screens resumes

  • Schedules and conducts interviews

  • Proactively communicates with candidates throughout the recruiting process

  • Extends job offers

  • Manages the relationship between recruitment vendors such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and other job boards and monitors performance

  • Collaborates with the HR team to define and implement recruitment strategies focused on identification of high potential candidates and talent pipeline generation

  • Researches and identifies target university and technical school programs relevant to Banner's employment needs; Builds and manages relationships with career centers, core professors, and student organizations

  • Attends campus events and career fairs, particularly during peak recruiting seasons (January through March and September through November)

  • Identifies professional organizations relevant to Banner careers as a source for talent and develops opportunities to partner, provide resources, and network to build a talent pipeline

  • Partners with Banner's training and development team to ensure new employee onboarding and orientation is smooth and engaging; Conducts employee onboarding and orientation

  • Monitors and ensures appropriate compliance with I-9 completion; conducts occasional audit

  • Coordinates company event planning for all internal events at the Corporate office such as ice cream social, engineer's week activity, annual anniversary party and other events

  • Serves as a resource to Banner employees related to benefits, company policy guidance, and other inquiries; monitors general HR email inbox to assist in providing timely response to employees

  • Manages the HR department page on Banner's internal SharePoint site; ensures information is maintained and updated as needed

  • Participates in and/or coordinates HR projects as assigned, gaining exposure to other areas of HR

  • Other duties as assigned

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Exceptional ability to establish relationships with internal and external partners
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive information and exercise discretion
  • Requires flexibility and ability to adapt to change
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication/presentation skills
  • Enjoys interacting with students and candidates
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail and follow-up
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to multi-task and be organized

Preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in recruiting is preferred but not required
  • Experience with UKG Pro
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (UKG Pro or similar)
