Responsible for hiring and maintaining a productive workforce to include plant production, maintenance and office positions.
Coordinates the orientation and team training of management, production, maintenance and office candidates and team members.
Maintains positive employee relations with all employees through effective administration of company policies.
Advises and guides management in the effective utilization of all human resources.
Is responsible for decision making with respect to terminations and performance counseling to assure consistent enforcement of policies and procedures as not to violate any state or federal law.
Develops, implements, and maintains the plant's affirmative action program.
Oversees development of the Safety and Security Programs to meet OSHA and corporate requirements, to assure safe and healthy working conditions, and reduce frequency of accidents.
Manages a worker's compensation and non-work related disability programs that control costs and ensures quality care for employees through coordination with the medical community.
Maintains the Human Resources Information System to ensure it accurately reflects human resource and payroll information.
Manages and controls the inventory level of all direct and indirect supplies and in-process goods that are needed to produce all finished product items.
Purchases all direct and indirect supplies to produce the product and maintain the equipment and building, if not bought at Corporate.
Communicates with Hormel product managers, distribution managers, sales people, operation coordinators, and directly with Swiss American customers concerning their products, production, and distribution status.
Helps negotiate raw material ingredients and packaging purchases with direct supply vendors to obtain the best quality, price and service for Swiss American and Hormel, if not purchased at the corporate office.
A bachelor's degree
2+ years of experience in Human Resources Management or Generalist role.
Demonstrated skills in the area of employee relations.
A strong pattern of initiative and achievement.
Highly developed interpersonal skills, including leadership and persuasion.
Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States

Bi-lingual skills: speak, read and write in English and Spanish.
Experience in a manufacturing/processing environment.
