The Ski Resort Industry is a highly seasonal business that requires a manager who can oversee the human resources function from the employee's point of hire to termination. The Manager will work closely with the Director to develop employee engagement programs and ensure that the department runs efficiently. Responsibilities generally include benefits administration program design and contracting, orientations, and employee engagement. The HR Manager will oversee the front desk staff, partner with Finance and Payroll, and ensure regulatory and policy compliance. This position also plays a significant role in ensuring that we deliver a friendly and professional employee experience throughout our resort.DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:* Manage the Human Resources seasonal front desk staff * Develop, update and review human resource processes * Manage the paperwork flow and the data flow of information for the department while moving to paperless workflow * Accurate and timely administration of employee benefits: health and dental insurance, 401k, life and seasonal accident insurance * Manage Open Enrollment process for both year-round and also seasonal benefits * Conduct employee relations investigations. Allow employees to voice opinions and grievances, counsel personnel with interpersonal problems and assist in conflict resolution * Constantly work to develop and facilitate orientations, training and programs which improve employee retention, customer service skills, and motivation * Regular review of handbooks, forms, and manuals for compliance and improve as needed * Continue to enhance employee engagement and recognition practices focused on retention of workforce * Assist Director with performance management system * Assist Director to update and refresh wage and salary system * Assist department heads with compliance with Federal and California Labor Law and OSHA requirements * Ensure legal compliance in recruiting practices * Safeguard sensitive informationQUALIFICATIONS:* Five years or more HR management experience in a resort (ski industry preferred) setting * Strong work ethic * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Extensive knowledge in*
  • Benefit administration, including ACA requirements* 401k administration * California Workers Compensation laws * California labor laws, particularly as applicable to the ski industry * Kronos/UKG Workforce Ready experience a PLUS* Attention to detail * Possess excellent people skills * Ability to work well with employees and managers at all levels to resolve employee issues and job related problemsWHAT'S UNIQUE ABOUT US?* We operate in a snowbound village in the winter.
