Our Chattanooga distribution center is seeking an experienced HR Manager to spearhead comprehensive human resources management for our facility. This pivotal role involves supporting over 150+ hourly associates and collaborating closely with leadership to refine and optimize the organization's human resources practices. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving recruitment, employee relations, development, performance management, and strategic business partnership.
Responsibilities:
Recruiting and Onboarding:
Execute end-to-end recruitment processes, including sourcing, job posting, interviewing, offer management, and seamless onboarding experiences.
Collaborate with departmental managers to assess and select high-potential candidates.
Ensure a consistent and engaging onboarding process for all employees.
Develop and implement a targeted recruitment strategy for seasonal employees to efficiently handle peak operational periods.
Employee Relations:
Emphasize and enforce safety policies to maintain a secure work environment.
Drive culture and engagement initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
Address employee requests and concerns promptly.
Process and administer various leave-of-absence requests.
Maintain and update the employee handbook with current policies and procedures.
Employee Development:
Coordinate and conduct training sessions to continually enhance employee skills and performance.
Ensure compliance with mandatory training, including forklift certification, harassment training, and CPR.
Performance Management:
Support performance management processes, including evaluations and constructive feedback.
Collaborate with supervisors and managers to address performance issues and implement improvement plans.
Manage a performance appraisal system that encourages and recognizes high performance.
Develop and implement succession planning and innovative HR strategy plans.
Business Partner:
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with overall business goals.
Report to management, providing decision support through meaningful HR metrics.
Stay updated on relevant employment laws and ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
5+ years of experience in a Human Resources Management capacity.
Ideally experienced in ecommerce, operations, or warehousing.
Flexibility to work outside regular hours during peak seasons.
Strong recruiting skills with a demonstrated ability to refine talent acquisition strategies.
Expertise in training managers and employees.
Strong organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Attention to detail and sound judgment.
