Position Description

The HRM is responsible for developing the human capital necessary to support the achievement of the financial, compliance, and strategic goals of their respective store location, positively contributing to the long-term success of the market, region, and company.

The HRM also anticipates and addresses talent needs through strategic recruiting, staffing, and training. An individual in this position must also motivate and retain existing talent by anticipating and responding to human resource issues as they arise.

The HRM is additionally responsible for developing the leadership skills of Department Managers and Assistant Store Managers and actively coaching the entire store management team. In order to accomplish this, the HRM must have a broad knowledge of human resource legal requirements, trends, and practices and be well aware of their impact on the management and operation of the business.

The HRM partners with the Store Manager, studying market trends, and developing short and long-term plans for driving employee engagement and retention in the store. The HRM is expected to model effective communication and leadership in the store, while consistently applying Lowe s policies, management practices, and legal requirements.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, Communication, a related field OR 3+ years of experience in Human Resources as a generalist, specialist, or manager in lieu of degree.

Read, write, and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (certain preferences may be given for special language skills when there is a business need).

Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
18 years of age or older.

Submit to background check.

Submit to a pre-employment drug test administered by the Company.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or equivalent.
2 years of experience working with management teams in a Human Resources leadership role.
1 year of experience with specific Human Resources software programs, e.g., PeopleSoft HR, Kronos, and Kenexa.
3 years of experience in retail management influencing business leaders.

Experience with Microsoft Office, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook.

VIEW JOBS 10/11/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-09T00:00 Essential Responsibilities: * Facilitate the delivery of multiple insurance and benefit plans for employees in the bank and all Towne affiliates * Ensure the administration of all benefits plans is in compliance with relevant government laws and regulations, and that all required notices and disclosures are delivered or posted timely and as frequently as required * Provide appropriate communication regarding available employee benefits and programs to Towne employees and/or ensure that information is easily accessible if/when needed via the Intranet * Coordinate the activities of the benefits team to respond adequately and appropriately to employee questions about their benefits * Work with various benefits vendors to ensure processes for timely enrollment, termination and changes are in place and working as efficiently as possible * Works with Director of Training to ensure the effective delivery of the Benefits portion of New Employee Orientation twice monthly for new hires and as needed for various groups of employees in entities being acquired by the Bank. Ensure that detailed information regarding leave policies, insurance plans, 401K, EAP, Employee Club, MSPP, Banking Benefits, etc. is provided. * Respond to questions or problems that have been escalated from the Benefits Specialists. Work directly with carriers to resolve any plan issues, changes or needs of existing employees and keep employees informed during the process. * Assist the HR Management with the administration of the 401K Plan, including responding to requests for information for plan testing, annual audit, etc. * Work with Towne Benefits and HR Management to assist in the evaluation of new offerings and plans for Open Enrollment each year * Communicate with employees during Open Enrollment any plan changes, costs, new benefits, etc. * Work with HR Management to coordinate benefits related decisions that are required for companies being acquired by Towne * Work with the HRIS Administrator to prepare the HRIS for OE annually, ensuring the proper setup of all required elections, applicable deductions, required notifications, acknowledgments, etc. * Work with the HRIS Administrator to facilitate the preparation and rollout of annual total rewards statements * Communicates with family members and beneficiaries as needed in the event of a life insurance claim. Ensures that life insurance claim has been filed timely and proper records have been maintained by Benefits Specialists * Work closely with the Health Plan Advisor to ensure employees stay apprised of ways to best utilize Towne's and their own healthcare dollars * Responsible for the hiring, training, cross-training and development of benefits staff members * Attend applicable healthcare seminars/training updates as needed * Be available to work outside normal business hours as business needs or team needs dictate * Obey all applicable HIPAA rules and federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) * Handles other duties and special projects as assigned Minimum Required Skills or Competencies: * Five or more years' experience in employee benefits administration * Strong knowledge of employee benefits and related compliance * Experience supervising and/or managing a group of three or more employees * High school graduate or equivalent * Strong organizational skills * Ability to work with little or no supervision * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) * Must possess the highest qualities of integrity, discretion, strong work ethics and the ability to maintain extreme confidentiality Desired Skills and Competencies: * Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field * PHR, SPHR, Human Resources or Employee Benefits certification Towne Bank Suffolk VA
