Georgia-Pacific's Continuous Manufacturing Group is seeking an experienced Manager, Human Resources Business Partner to join the HR team supporting the Cedar Springs containerboard facility in Cedar Springs, GA. Georgia-Pacific Cedar Springs is a stable employer 30 min east of Dothan, AL and employs approximately 500 employees. The Cedar Springs mill is critically important to GP's containerboard business, and this HR leadership role will have an opportunity to positively impact culture, the operation's overall talent position to achieve business results, and HR transformation to a new service delivery model. This position will require that you live within commuting distance of Cedar Springs or be willing to relocate.
What You Will Do In Your Role
Build credibility and trust with the workforce, management team, and Union leaders.
Manage facility labor relations through strategic application of the collective bargaining agreement.
Provide strategic and tactical guidance to the management team in areas of change management, labor relations and employee development
Help build an innovative and knowledgeable local HR capability to support facility operations at all levels.
Drive innovation in HR functions and processes to include continued automation of transaction work and leveraging shared capabilities across the business. Leverage data driven solutions to support the business and advance results
Ensure employees understand how they create value for the company - identify talent gaps that are obstacles and coach supervisors on the development of gap closure plans
Understand, develop, apply, and coach employees on our culture of Principle Based ManagementTM. Constructively challenge situations and behaviors that are not consistent with Georgia-Pacific's Guiding Principles and Code of Conduct
Develop business acumen to understand key drivers of business performance and support delivering results
Partner with various capability teams to continue improvement of our talent position - selection, attraction, and retention
Identify HR Compliance risks and develop gap closure plans to address risks while implementing a systematic approach to maintaining compliance
Foster a knowledge sharing culture to profitably improve efficiency and consistency for GP and to discover untapped value.
Understand, interpret, and communicate current policies and practices while identifying opportunities to drive standardization and eliminate waste.
Partner with other HR leaders across GP to share information and best practices
Be forward thinking to anticipate needs and issues before they arise
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree OR Relevant Human Resources experience
Labor relations experience (e.g., grievance administration, contract interpretation, etc.)
Experience with HR processes that could include - talent mobility, selection, performance management, and talent/org planning
Experience directly supporting site leadership teams
What Will Put You Ahead
Five (5) or more years of Human Resources experience
Experience in a supervisory role where you have developed HR teams and HR professionals
Experience analyzing data to uncover opportunities
Experience managing labor relations with a unionized workforce.
Experience developing and aligning initiatives to accelerate achievement of strategic business objectives
Experience with payroll and scheduling systems. Knowledge of Kronos and Kronos Advanced Schedule is a plus
