ITS has partnered with a rapidly growing manufacturing company in Farmington, NY to recruit an HR Manager.
Position Summary:
The HR Manager reports to and works closely with the Controller and is responsible for all the HR functions, including benefit and leave of absence administration, on and offboarding processes and procedures, employee engagement, management, and retention, managing payroll, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and managing payroll weekly.
- Managing the company’s entire recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening and interviewing, onboarding, background checks and drug screenings, and leading the termination process.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for vendors and internal customers regarding.
- Managing all benefit and leave administration, 401(k) and ESOP program,
- Updating and maintaining system for payroll deductions, including benefit withholdings and garnishments.
- Managing open enrollment process and building and maintaining a strong relationship and trust with all levels of employees.
- Reconciling insurance and benefit invoices.
- Managing monthly and quarterly claims process & submissions for PFL, DBL and Workers Compensation.
- Serving as the 401(k) lead, including reporting, notifications, tracking eligibility and enrollment.
- Preparing annual ESOP Census.
- Managing various other compliance reporting.
- Quarterly and annual tax reporting, including W-2a and 1095s.
- Reviewing and responding to unemployment notifications.
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws.
- Maintaining company handbook, assisting with creating policies, procedures, and updates as needed.
- Maintaining confidentiality of all personnel data.
- Other tasks and projects, as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or relevant field, PHR and/or SHRM are desired.
- A minimum of 4 years of HR & payroll experience with construction or manufacturing preferred, and experience managing benefits, leave of absence and payroll.
- Strong attention to detail, follow through with time sensitive matters and projects, and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work closely with all levels of employees.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft applications, applicant tracking systems, and other software systems.
