The Human Resources Manager (HRM) will develop and drive talent strategies that enable associate engagement, support Crane Composites strategy, and increase business performance. A thought partner to business leaders and liaison to HR, the HRM focuses on deeply understanding our business needs, identifying systemic or targeted issues that are impeding our success and translating those findings into meaningful solutions that deliver desired results. The HRM is a true change leader and models Crane Composites values in their daily interactions, leading by example.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Partners with the site leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and intellectual capital process.

  • Provides support and guidance to the site management team, and Vice President, Human Resources when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, addressing performance gaps utilizing performance management process and terminations.

  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes defining recruitment strategies to attract talent, sourcing, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants. The HRM will support all hiring needs as it relates to hourly manufacturing, professional and managerial roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.

  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

  • Administers compensation, benefits, performance management, and safety and recreation programs.

  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.

  • Plan and conduct employee orientation and training programs.

  • Interpret policies and procedures for accurate and consistent application.

  • Forecast needs and allocate time and resources to enable ongoing business operations.

  • Travel 5% to 10%

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field. PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

  • 5 to 8 years of HR experience, with minimally 3+ years within a manufacturing organization.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel /Power Point, PeopleSoft, eTime and ADP.

  • Good organizational, time management and general office skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, with a self-starter mindset and initiative

  • Strong conflict resolution skills.

  • Willingness to take on new responsibilities and challenges.

  • Open to constructive feedback and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.

  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that are valid and defensible.

  • Ability to recognize a problem and initiate corrective steps, in accordance with local laws and in compliance with company policies.

  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).

  • Ability to develop one's own ways of doing things, guiding oneself with little or no supervision, and depending on oneself to get things done.
