Human Resources Intern

Job Description and Resonsibilties

  • The Human Resources Intern will assist the EVRAZ Human Resources Dept. with a wide range of HR related projects related to compliance, recruiting, onboarding/orientation, benefits, and community outreach initiatives. You will learn about the steps in the recruiting process, the importance of employment law and compliance, employee benefits management, and the interrelationship of HR and other departments to become a good business partner

  • University and High School Relations

  • Assist in organizational training and development efforts

  • Assist with special projects

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest to work in Human Resources, Marketing, or Management fields.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and social media applications

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Working Environment and Physical Activities

Needs to see to enter data and check information on the screen. Standing, walking, sitting. Occasionally stooping or kneeling. Physical exertion is negligible. Primarily subject to inside office environmental conditions, not regularly exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Responsibilities * Verifying the accuracy and ensuring the timely processing of employee information in multiple systems and databases. * Creating, modifying, verifying, and posting requisitions in the Taleo applicant tracking system. * Ensuring the timely and accurate notification of various internal parties of employee actions which have an effect on corporate compliance activities. * Resolving moderately complex issues for both internal and external clients. * Verifying and processing information related to training and tracking. * Verifying and processing changes in positions and organizational structures. * Auditing the accuracy of information provided including records, reports, payments and deductions. * Utilizing software tools to develop ad hoc queries and reports from SAP. * Advising clients related to general HR inquires including how to correctly complete and submit employee data change requests, position modifications, etc. * Filing of both hard copy and electronic employee records. Requirements * High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. * 2 + years of related customer service experience. * Detail orientation in following established written procedures, balanced with the ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with high workload, completing multiple tasks with inflexible and rapidly changing deadlines and requirements. * Excellent customer interface skills including effective telephone techniques, active listening and problem resolution skills. * Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with team members and clients/customers in a fashion that promotes positive customer relations and protects sensitive/confidential information. * Demonstrated experience utilizing various PC-based tools to input and extract information, as well as the ability to run various reports and import/export data correctly from one tool to the next. Preferences * Bachelor's Degree in human resources, information systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access. * Familiarity with the Taleo or similar applicant tracking system as well as e-Verify. * Knowledge of and experience with SAP (specifically with the HR module). * Experience processing employee information in a production oriented environment. * Knowledge of general Company Human Resources policies, procedures and practices.
