Job Description and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Human Resources Intern to join our Pueblo, Colorado team for the Summer of 2024. This individual will learn how to operate in a real mill setting and interact with plant personnel, as well as provide support to human resource functions.

• Facilitate positive and proactive front-line employee customer service, resolving questions and concerns to provide employees with requested information on policy, process, etc.

• Process employee data changes within HRIS for new hires, terminations, and other status changes

• Analyze data and identify trends in partnership with HR group in order to assist with timekeeping and payroll, the develop impactful programs and other solutions

• Audit new and existing processes and/or procedures to streamline for improved efficiency

• Maintain working knowledge of HR legal requirements related to day-to-day operations, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance

• Manage both onboarding and offboarding processes, from facilitation of new hire orientation to exit interviews

• Performs other duties as they might be assigned

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Human Resources or related field

• Sophomore year completed

• Experience with Microsoft Office suite and employee database systems; Workday HRIS experience preferred

• Results-Driven attitude focused on execution & continuous improvement

• Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Meticulous attention to detail require

• Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time

• Ability to work independently with little direct supervision

Term

• May-August 2024

Compensation

• $22-$26 depending on experience

• Due to the nature of this position, the selected candidate will not be eligible for additional benefits and bonuses*
