Organizational Relationships:

This position reports directly into the head of Data Innovation & Solutions.

The Data Innovation and Solutions team within the Human Resources department provides advanced tools and resources to enable information-based decision making and strategic advice.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, collaboration and project management skills, a strong command of Tableau, Python/R and other information delivery and business intelligence tools.

Responsibilities / Key Deliverables:

  • Requires senior level product ownership to drive transformation and the way

HR analyses and visualizes data

  • Partner with internal analytics teams, HR coverage areas, reporting teams,

technology and internal business unit clients to drive change

  • Transform the way that HR information is delivered across systems, for both

HR professionals and managers

o Create a model for providing insights on demand / self-service approach to data analysis and distribution for HR and managers

o Transform the reporting approach as it pertains to dashboards, key indicators and rosters

o Focus on reducing the footprint of Business Objects via governance and oversight of data distribution

  • Implement and focus on adoption of analytics tools for internal reporting


o Tableau product ownership and partner with HR technology

o Engage HR colleagues globally with the tool and encourage adoption

o Develop ongoing training strategies to drive skills and engagement with Power Users; focus on helping them create effective visualizations and analyses. Consider various models to structure this approach including a center of excellence for standard key dashboards

o Drive the next generation of data access for analytics by evaluating, selecting and implementing data wrangling and access tool for advanced analytics and data science projects

  • Partner with HR technology to ensure infrastructure and support for data innovation projects

Required Competencies/Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of relevant work experience

  • Experience in advanced analytics

  • Experience with data insights tools and data wrangling tools a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to transform business needs into technology requirements that both the business and technology understand

  • Self-starter with strong and creative problem-solving skills

  • Need to be able to succinctly communicate ideas, recommendations orally and

in writing to a wide range of audiences, as well as exceptional listening and

presentation skills

  • Experienced Tableau user (Power user)

  • Power user of Python and/or R, strongly desired

  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time

The manager will investigate customer behavior, attribute revenue, assess business impact and socialize the findings for the betterment of the organization.   Key Responsibilities:     * Create and grow trusted cross-functional relationships * Support & evolve US Marketing team practices in executing data management, analytics planning, implementation, reporting and insights across marketing initiatives including:  acquisition, cross-sell, retention, loss ratio and cost savings * Oversee data collection methodologies, automation and processes to support on-boarding needs for campaigns, website / portal behavior, conversion funnel performance, and ROI * Build real-time dashboards that automate aggregation of multiple data sources, visually communicate and facilitate marketing decisions * Provide easy-to-understand marketing insights and consultation that translate into practical, actionable recommendations across multiple marketing channels: * Digital – search, display & social * Email – acquisition & CRM * Direct mail * Inbound & outbound phone * Perform deep dive analyses and recommend corresponding hypotheses to test; lead testing recommendations and implementation * Optimize and scale  analytics, IT and data ecosystem linkage, including tag management and campaign management, within the MetLife enterprise model * Manage one direct report * Perform other related duties as assigned or required   Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: Required: * 3-5+ years of experience in data/ digital analytics, monitoring business performance results and creating recommendations to make key business decisions * Intermediate SQL knowledge i.e. comfortable with complex table joins, aggregates, derived measures/formulas in code * Advanced Excel and intermediate MS Access abilities * Adept in Tableau, Domo, Qlik Sense or other BI data aggregation and visualization software * Knowledge of scripting languages (python, VBA/VBS, or similar) * Fluency in digital  industry standard reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics & DoubleClick * Familiarity with data platforms (SAS & R) and digital languages (HTML, JavaScript) * Strong grasp of data management and data flow as it relates to disparate reporting systems (e.g. ad serving, digital analytics, lead and sales reporting) * Established track record of managing and prioritizing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously * Knowledge of tag management platforms (e.g. Adobe DTM, GTM & Ensighten) * Basic knowledge of marketing principles, fundamental finance & budgeting concepts * Sound business acumen with results-driven mindset and sense of urgency   Preferred: * Bachelor’s degree in quantitative and/or business field * Experience with insurance/ financial services products e.g. life & auto insurance, annuities and brokerage services * Experience in implementing A/B testing and multi-touch attribution e.g.  Adobe Target, Optimizely, Google A360 * Understanding of data onboarding process and platforms (e.g. LiveRamp, Neustar) and online to phone tracking (e.g. DialogTech, Invoca, Marchex) * Statistics & modeling experience   Business Category Global Brand & Marketing   Number of Openings 1     At MetLife, we’re leading the global transformation of an industry we’ve long defined.
