Job Description:

Essential duties & responsibilities: (detailed description)

  • Provide comprehensive immigration support and guidance for inbound U.S. foreign national employees in accordance with company guidelines, best practices, and established internal and external procedures to ensure compliance

  • Prepare and manage temporary visa petitions and permanent residency petitions in their entirety (initiating, preparation, responding to requests for evidence, etc.)

  • Monitor and track individual case milestones, expiration dates, and deadlines

  • Proactively communicate in accordance with an established communication plan with foreign national employees and other relevant contacts regarding the status of visas and permanent residency cases

  • Track and monitor critical deadlines and proactively identify risks and issues

  • Provide support for inbound and outbound travel that includes business visitor's visas, and employment confirmation letters

  • Generate end-client letters for foreign national contract workers on assignment at Stryker

  • Independently advise on position sponsorship eligibility, candidate eligibility and prevailing wage requests with Talent Acquisition Independently manage I-9 reverification process including initial intake and on-going maintenance

  • Additional tasks as required

Education & special trainings:

B.A. or B.S. from an accredited university required

Qualifications & experience:

  • At least six months of general HR experience

  • Strong relationship skills and cross-cultural understanding

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills that demonstrate the ability and flexibility to work under tight time constraints while prioritizing competing demands across various time zones

  • Proven track record of strong and successful customer service skills

  • An empathetic approach to handling employee concerns

  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of U.S. government regulations affecting visas and immigration (USCIS, DOL, etc.) preferred

  • Experience providing immigration guidance to employees, prospective employees, managers, and HR professionals and handling confidential employee information preferred

  • Experience supporting immigration that includes knowledge of temporary visas and the permanent residency process preferred

  • Develop potential solutions based on legal and compliance requirements.

  • Review printed materials and information on electronic systems.

  • Communicate telephonically and via email and other electronic means.

What you will do As a Business Process Manager (BPM), you will partner with Stryker's HR Operations, HR Centers of Expertise (COE) and HR functional leads to provide subject matter expertise from our HR system, Workday. Using the network connections in the global Workday community, you will also be responsible for building the bridge between the needs and system capability. You will be surrounded by a team of people who are all dedicated toward leveraging our system to ensure the positive employee experience is never compromised as we expand and continuously improve our system functionality. Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to: * Perform functional system administration activities on core HCM, talent acquisition, compensation, talent management, U.S. payroll, time, and absence functionality * Consult on system design activities within HR projects, providing HR system expertise and guidance on the benefits of automating and standardizing HR functionality * Work with functional leadership to develop requirements for Workday configuration and collaborate with HR Operations and COEs on implementation of functionality * Manage Workday functionality and business processes – break/fix, issue resolution and enhancements * Provide instruction for HR Operations on the use of Workday applications and troubleshooting errors * Serve as escalation point for unresolved Workday issues from Tier 2 Workforce Administrators * Log and maintain tickets in ticket tracking systems * Perform Workday release tasks and regression testing, twice per year and weekly when required * Analyze and consult on interface solutions in sharing data with other HR applications and downstream systems * Collaborate with HR business partners and HR operations to execute security and access changes to functional security roles * Actively participate and represent Stryker on Workday Community; networking, troubleshooting and sharing functionality improvements for future release considerations * Coordinate and communicate system changes, required systems maintenance/downtime, changes in functionality, etc. to the HR operations team and other impacted functions * Understand proper use, storage and transmission of sensitive employee data and actively participate in system and data quality compliance activities. What you need * Bachelor's degree required.
