The Human Resources Generalist, reporting to the Human Resources Manager, is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-boarding tasks including, but not limited to, contracts, background checks/drug screens, and other pre-employment tests.

  • Conduct new employee orientations (on-boarding paperwork, policy overviews, benefit information, etc.)

  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.

  • Performs HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance.

  • Maintains confidential personnel files and personnel actions.

  • Assist with administrative tasks related to off-boarding.

  • Assists employees and managers with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

  • Ensure documentation and policies are current and distributed appropriately.

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and policy acknowledgement.

  • Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment status.

  • Maintain agenda for weekly staff meetings.

  • Complete required monthly reports on new hires and terminations to be reported to the state.

  • Itemize monthly invoices from benefit carriers.

  • Assists the HR manager with various projects.

  • Assists with benefits administration.

  • Assists in administration of compensation program; helps to monitor performance appraisal process and attend performance appraisal meetings.

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years related HR experience required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS systems
