Michigan Medicine Human Resources Solutions Center (HRSC) is a customer service division of HR which provides the traditional work expected from Human Resources. We are seeking to hire a temporary Human Resources Generalist to primary support the General Inquiries Team with their off-phone work. This position offers an exciting opportunity to motivated candidates interested in gaining entry level experience in Human Resources. The primary duties of this position are to provide the following services, under the general direction of the HRSC Lead's and Manager:
Process Personnel Action Request (PAR) transactions for Michigan Medicine employees, this includes job data changes, DBE (department budget earnings), additional pay, leaves of absence requests and termination requests.
Conduct personnel file reviews
Complete and compile information requested for Subpoena's
Assist with data entry from one case management system to another.
May assist with the review and development of job postings and job offers within the MPathways eRecruit system.
May assist with setting salaries via salary setting models
Other HRSC related tasks as assigned.
Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications
Demonstrated strong organizational skills to coordinate multiple priorities, work at high standards, and meet deadlines within a required timeframe.
Ability to demonstrate independence, and flexibility in supporting multiple units, within a fast-paced, high work volume environment.
Demonstrated effective communication skills, including personable phone skills, active listening skills and strong written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to act with professionalism and integrity and respecting the confidentiality of information acquired.
Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with others to fulfill our goals with peers, managers and employees.
Demonstrated ability to work well within a diverse, team environment.
Demonstrated solid attendance
Associates degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 1 year of successful experience with day-to-day administration of HR transactions and data.
Demonstrated knowledge of U-M and UMHS HR policies, contracts, procedures and practices.
Knowledge of M-Pathways (PeopleSoft) and Microsoft Office applications.
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification.
Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
