Job Purpose

The Human Resources Generalist will assist in the development and execution of HR strategies in several functional areas to advance business operations and provide high quality HR services. This position strategically supports various HR functions including payroll/benefits, training/development, performance management, talent acquisition, in addition to HR systems and reporting.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the first point of contact for human resources-related inquiries and responds in a timely manner. Researches and responds to inquiries from employees and third parties.

  • Oversees and maintains optimal functioning of ADP including data accuracy, integrity, and reporting. Serves as the escalated point of contact for more complex timekeeping, time-off, payroll, benefit, and related inquiries.

  • Accurately and timely process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll. Prepares and distributes payroll reports to accounting department.

  • Partners with hiring managers to determine a recruitment strategy which includes defining job requirements, pre-screen interview questions and where to advertise to provide a diverse applicant pool.

  • Facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants by posting job openings, sourcing candidates, scheduling and conducting phone screens, and coordinating onsite interviews.

  • Plans and facilitates new hire orientation and on-boarding activities to assure a smooth transition to the organization. Conducts new hire surveys.

  • Conducts new hire orientation and coordinates buddy pairings. Provides accurate information regarding benefit plans and policies.

  • Manages open enrollment. Ensures employee benefit enrollments are accurately entered into third party vendor systems in a timely manner. Works with benefit vendors to resolve enrollment/termination issues to ensure efficient benefit operations.

  • Performs benefit audits twice a year and maintains a benefit enrollment spreadsheet for budgeting purposes.

  • Administers various leave of absence programs including FMLA, STD, LTD, and state specific leaves.

  • Coordinates the rollout and tracking of mid-year and annual performance reviews in ADP.

  • Provides the following ongoing support - promotes HR initiatives and benefits to employees, prepares quarter and year-end reporting for all the stakeholders, invoice reconciliation and payment, creates and maintains company organizational charts, ensures job descriptions are up to date, assists with compensation studies, social media posts, and training/professional development needs.

  • Work closely with HR Director to implement, administer, and maintain STAG's employee engagement policies and activities (e.g., learning and development, circulating all company emails with changes/updates in policies, LinkedIn staffing updates).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 3+ years of HR experience.

  • Experience with a human resources information system (HRIS), preferably ADP.

  • Good understanding of general HR practices and employment regulations.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and manage administrative tasks.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent customer service and team orientation.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with an HRIS application a must.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Working Conditions

  • Position does not require special working conditions. Employee works in an office setting utilizing a laptop provided by Company.

  • Position has no direct managerial responsibilities.
