The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist is responsible for performing a wide range of complex and routine HR related duties, working closely with the members of the HR team to support the mission of the organization. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to process improvement, employee engagement and career development, daily guidance for managers regarding issues and projects. Provide guidance in the administration of policies and procedures. This role is critical to creating and developing opportunities for our employees, supporting company growth initiatives and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.

Position Responsibilities:

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Provides guidance and counseling to managers and employees on issues including, but not limited to employee performance/performance improvement, able to interpret various organizational policies to inform decision making implementation of policies and ensures consistent application of these policies and procedures.
  • Provides project management, support and participation for HR projects and initiatives. Coordinate Longevity and other SSO HR programs
  • Compiles, monitors, and interprets data to identify trends. Provides recommendations based on trends.
  • Provides support on a variety of HR administrative tasks such as I9 verifications, exit interview, process SSOHR invoices, unemployment claim processing, workforce planning, colleague queries, program administration, drafting communications, etc. as needed.
  • Identifies processes to improve, collaborates with team to make recommendations on improvements and leads implementation of improvements.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Working Relationships:

Requirements and Specifications:

Education

  • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Preferred: Bachelor Human Resource Management

Experience

  • Minimum: 3 years Human Resources experience
  • Preferred: 5 years Generalist HR experience

Licensure, Certification, Registration

  • SHRM Certification

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State and Local legislation regarding personnel and labor laws.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communications skills/ oral and written.
  • Strong listening, thinking, and group facilitation skills.
  • Adaptability, resourcefulness and ability to work in fast moving environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must maintain confidentiality, discretion, and integrity.
  • Proficient with MS Office Products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Proficiency working on an HRIS system.
  • Willing and able to travel between locations occasionally/as needed.
  • Very hands-on; comfortable completing administrative tasks.
