The People Team Generalist will serve as the primary HR contact to our retail Galleries. It is essential that this role build a foundation of personal trust through first-class service and provides a point of view with the business using effective interpersonal skills. This role partners with Business Leaders in areas of talent strategy, performance management, and employee relations, with laser focus on the goal of enhancing talent and business performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, drive and execute talent acquisition strategies in partnership with leadership to achieve long term vision

  • Develop and maintain trusted advisor relationship with business leadership

  • Provide expertise in the following areas: employee relations, performance management, compensation and rewards, learning and development, recognition programs and data analysis

  • Provide day-to-day coaching and guidance to leaders in the organization

  • Assist with the communication, rollout and change management of people programs and initiatives

  • Provide timely information and/or education to all levels of the organization on HR related topics

  • Analyze trends and utilize data, metrics and analytics to guide decision making and provide proactive solutions to the organization

  • Solve problems and get to the root cause of any issue, no matter how complex.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years professional work experience in Human Resources, ideally in a fast paced retail or hospitality organization

  • Ability to thrive and prioritize in a fast paced, high-growth, changing environment

  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills with expertise in employee relations

  • Proven ability to use data and analytics to diagnose problems using strategic thinking skills design and implement appropriate solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results

  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills

  • Demonstrated ability to practice a high level of confidentiality

  • Excellent organization and detail skills, able to meet deadlines, and ability to work independently and professionally and follow through on work assignments

  • Extensive knowledge of HR policies, procedures, compliance and practices and experience in leading, developing and executing HR projects and programs

  • Curiosity and follow-through are critical to your success

  • Attention to detail to ensure quality in every interaction and deliverable

POSITION SUMMARY Provides location or geography-based HR support and guidance to our employees and front-line leaders on a wide variety of front-line HR issues, including implementation of critical HR processes. Primary focus is on employee relations related matters. Serves as a strong partner in solving people related issues requiring decision making skills and solid judgment to contribute to a high performance culture. The HR Generalist is expected to execute on the following key deliverables: * Coach and consult employees and front line leaders on critical HR processes as needed (e.g., staffing initiatives, onboarding, performance management, development planning, rewards planning, policy interpretation); serve as a local extension of HR Business Partners to ensure desired outcomes are met; Provide recommendations on day to day problems and issues, escalating complex HR issues. * Serve as a subject matter in employee relations to conduct investigations and lead cases to effective closure; Advise front line leaders on appropriate corrective actions up to and including employee terminations * Help build leader capability to effectively engage teams/ employees * Conduct exit interviews and review people analytics to recommend/ implement actions to proactively address and improve hot spot areas * Recommend revisions to policies and practices to align with best practice, make CDK a great place to work and to maintain compliance * Serve as an advocate and coach to local employees re: career growth – provide personalized advice on building having effective development conversations and creating actionable plans, developing their personal brand, etc. * Stay abreast of market conditions and ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws * Work with a site/ geography-based leadership team to: * Review trends/ key people metrics and discuss/recommend and action against proposed improvement opportunities at the location/ geography * Drive progress against engagement action plans at the site level (inclusive of diversity and inclusion/ Business Resource Group initiatives, local engagement committee/ community initiatives) * Help communicate key business updates/ strategy/ leadership messages to the field; serve as communications change champions/ ambassadors * Reinforce and support talent development and succession action plans in partnership with the HR Business Partners within a site/ geography * Provide other support as needed based on volume of work/ business need (e.g., project teams, etc.) * Partners and provide support to the HR Centers of Excellence (Compensation and Benefits, HR Communications, HR Operations, and Talent) including annual processes REQUIREMENTS * A minimum of 1-2 years of knowledge and experience in employee relations, employee engagement, and employee development or related field * Strong credible HR resource to business leaders; comfortable challenging them/ coaching them as needed to drive the best outcomes for the organization * Excellent organizational and decision making skills * Evidence of the ability to coach employees and front line leaders with a high level of confidentiality * Outstanding interpersonal relationship building skills * Strong written and spoken communication skills * Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment; Must include knowledge of Excel and skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) * General knowledge of various employment laws and practices a plus CDK Global knows you have passions outside of work.
