Job Summary

Position Summary:

Pentair is currently seeking a Human Resources (HR) Generalist to administer support for the Human Resources department at multiple sites by creating and maintaining administrative processes for the department. In this role, the HR Generalist will provide comprehensive support in a variety of areas indcluding: organizational design & structure, talent management processes, recruiting / staffing, compensation, benefits administration, HR process standardization, simplification, and administration, legal compliance, policy / procedure administration, and employee relations. The position actively represents Human Resources department by greeting visitors and employees, answering questions and directing inquiries to the appropriate person. This role can be based out of the following locations: Bishop Woods, WI; Hanover Park, IL; or St. Paul, MN. Interested candidates, who meet the requirements below, are encouraged to apply today!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Senior Human Resources Director for the Business Unit

  • Responsible for partnering with the HR team across the business unit to standardize, streamline, and administer core HR processes for the business unit across the Unites States

  • Primary responsibilities will include:

  • HR Process Standardization & Administration: The role will involve looking at existing processes and focusing on improvement of tools, digitization, process controls, standardization, etc. (as well as increasing the overall efficiency of the HR function).

  • Benefits Administration & Management: Support benefits administration and lead wellness program activities designated by Corporate across the business unit. Conduct Open Enrollment and new hire benefit enrollment and lead annual health events. Maintain leave management records, manage claims with 3rd party vendor, and provide assistance to employees (FMLA and STD).

  • Core HR: Management of our HRIS data processes including updating information in PeopleSoft (HRIS) and administering various employee changes related to new hires, terminations, compensation, and job changes across the business.

  • Talent Acquisition and New Hire On-Boarding: Support the recruiting efforts for non-exmempt positions across the Enterprise including job postings, interview scheduling, phone screening, etc. Support new hire processes post-offer acceptance to ensure candidates complete all necessary paperwork and processes for hire (background check, drug screen, I-9 verification, new hire announcements, etc.). Conduct new hire orientation. Support the internship program and recruiting.

  • Rewards & Recognition: Administer various rewards and recognition programs including service awards, values awards, attendance programs, employee referral bonuses and other recognition programs. Review and recommend changes to rewards programs for standardization and improvement.

  • Reporting: Maintain reports, charts, and spreadsheets for HR metrics review and assist in pulling reports for HR analysis. Maintain HR Dashboard statistics and coordinate with HR team in delivery of required information for local analysis. Prepare and run reports in HRIS (PeopleSoft).

  • Time & Attendance: Assist with time & attendance system (Kronos) in setting up time clock badges, record management, absence tracking, etc. Act as the back-up for the business unit in payroll processing and time card approvals.

  • Workers Compensation Management: Manage workers compensation claims, entering new cases into risk management system, coordinating WC claim management and interacting with supervisors and HR to return injured workers to their positions.

  • Training Programs: Support the development, delivery and management of training records for employee development and mandatory training and compliance programs across the business.

  • Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

Job Requirements & Skills

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred.

  • 1-2 years of professional experience working as a HR Generalist

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)

  • Possess strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.

  • Knowledge and experience coordinating, troubleshooting and responding to customer service requests

  • Process oriented, highly accurate and attentive to detail.

  • Experience working in a corporate HR environment is strongly-preferred; experience supporting multiple sites is a plus.

  • Experience working with Benefits Administration & Leave Management (WC and FMLA/STD)

  • Solid project management & execution skills.

  • Strong communication (verbal & written) and facilitation skills.

  • Flexible, motivated, and resourceful; ability to demonstrate resiliency in the face of change is a plus.

  • Effective problem-solving & analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently while handling multiple priorities and requests.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain awareness of trends in HR and relevant employment law; active membership in SHRM is a plus.

The Generalist does have responsibility for procurement activities for global Business Units and/or partner function related to day to day operations of these Business Units.
