Job Description:

This position will serve as a generalist in the human resources department with primary responsibilities associated with the full cycle of recruiting through onboarding new employees and employee benefits.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists Hiring Managers post vacancies within the applicant tracking system.

  • Ensures job duties and requirements within the vacancy requisitions are consistent and align with established job descriptions.

  • Advertises positions as requested in Requisitions and monitors the effectiveness of advertising.

  • Executes training for Search Committees and Chairs.

  • Provides guidance and assistance to Hiring Managers, Search Committee Chairs, and Applicants during the interviewing/hiring process.

  • Follows progress of Jobs within applicant tracking system.

  • Reviews the Applicants selected for interviews and those requested to hire for minimum education and experience as indicated in the job description. Reviews this information with the Director of HR to validate the hire.

  • Performs background check utilizing third party vendor. Monitors progress of background check and brings any concerns to the Director of HR.

  • Creates appointment letters and contracts for new hires and transfers following an established format.

  • Ensures all new hire paperwork is complete and e-verify processed prior to or by the hire date.

  • Coordinates onboarding date, schedule for trainers, location, materials needed and facilitates the training with the Director of HR.

  • Provides statistical data to the Director of HR monthly regarding separations, number of applicants, effectiveness of recruiting tools, new hires, and vacancies.

  • Guides and assists new employees and current employees with qualifying events, with enrollment of benefits using the current portal.

  • Monitors the enrollments, terminations, and any changes in each of the benefit providers portals to ensure accurate coverage for each employee.

  • Reconciles benefit billing using the invoice and internal mechanisms to verify the information.

  • Serves as the Chair of the Wellness Committee developing and executing initiatives on campus.

  • Work with the Provost's Executive Assistant to develop and deliver Adjunct contracts using online signature system. Maintain spreadsheet of contracts and verify information to ensure accuracy.

  • Responsible for distribution and collection of Tuition Remission applications and tracking usage of the benefit.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within an HR Department, particularly with hiring and onboarding is required. Generalist experience preferred.

  • Bachelors required in business, human resources, or related field.

  • Previous customer services experience with demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of inquiries via email, phone, or in person.

  • SHRM-CP certification preferred..
