HR Generalist Full Time Days Position Summary

Responsible for the strategic alignment of business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. Serves as a consultant to management on human resources-related issues. Acts as an employee champion and change agent; assesses and anticipates HR-related needs; communicates needs proactively with the HR department and business management; and develops integrated solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Requests and insures that salary ranges and job codes are established for new positions in HRMS by Tenet Compensation. Works with Tenet Compensation in the coordination of the annual merit and market pay programs, as well as various pay practices. Receives, tracks, and electronically stores all annual evaluations. Trains managers on the use of the Mapps program.

  • Produces HRMS Ad Hoc reports as requested. Maintains salary grade report, updating as positions are created or upgraded. Tracks employee license and certification expirations; creates and distributes to managers a license deficiency report monthly.

  • Receives and reviews all position change notices and ensures each is entered in HRMS and faxed to Payroll in a timely manner. Communicates with and responds to questions from employees and the payroll department concerning employee pay issues. Completes payroll adjustment forms as needed.

  • Submits position approval requests as needed in the Position Control system and moves rejected employees through to open positions. Processes tuition assistance, student loan payments, education credit payments, Care Fund applications, sign-on and referral bonuses. Responds to subpoenas, completes monthly DOL reports, receives and tracks all SRT contracts.

  • Conducts HR/benefits presentation at new hire orientation.

  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective business units.

  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.

  • Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

THE HR GENERALIST FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Required: Minimum of five (5) years experience resolving complex employee relations issues.

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.

  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of employees.

  • Proficient computer skills MS WORD, MS Excel and HRIS/HRMS system.

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills.
