Position Vacancy Announcement

Florida A&M University's Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the HR Generalist vacancy.

Responsibilities

This position reports to Senior Associate Director for Time and Attendance and Payroll Operations; This role also provides support to the Time and Attendance Leave Coordinator for the university; Enters direct deposit requests for all new and existing University employees, which includes verifying the form for accuracy and completion; Consults with payroll representatives, deans, directors, department chairs, etc., to resolve and correct errors relating to W-4 and direct deposit entries; Completes written and verbal employment verifications and wage requests from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring documentation is filed and is responsible for processing W-4s for both new and existing University employees; Serves as back for running time administration for the on and off payroll cycles and reviews and corrects errors relating to time and labor during biweekly payroll processing; and this includes running time and labor queries and reports to verify accuracy.

Performs manual leave and time sheet audits as requested; Assists with leave adjustments as needed for all employees; Assists with the separation process by gathering faculty and staff clearance forms; Serves as back up for salary calculations on leave payouts for employees separating and entering DROP; Assists with explaining rules and regulations to faculty and staff pertaining to Fair Labor and Standard Act (FLSA), overtime and military leave requests; Assists with work schedules for salaried employees via ImageNow each biweekly pay period; This includes continuous monitoring of the time and labor queue; Assists with maintaining log sheets for all assigned employees during each biweekly pay period; Assists with monitoring employees leave usage for accurate time entry for each submitted leave requests; Assists with reviewing sick leave pool donations for eligible employees; and reviews and submits changes for employees coming off probation and eligible for a personal holiday.

Assists with analyzing and formulating changes to University policies, rules and regulations regarding Time and Labor Administration and/or payroll operations; Keeps abreast of time and labor system changes and new processes that will impact the overall operations; Aids with drafting correspondence related to time and labor issues; Provides training and workshops on time and labor processes as needed; May serve on University committees and/or focus groups as a representative of the Office of Human Resources; and performs related duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency and five years of human resources experience; or bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and one years of related experience in human resources or applicable field.

Ability to utilize problem solving skills;

Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices; and

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Pay Plan

This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.

Conditions of Employment
