About the role!

IQVIA is hiring! We are recruiting a HR Business Partner to support the Real World & Analytic Solutions Global Business Unit (RWAS)

Within this role you will provide expertise, support and advice to your internal client pool working locally but also with a regional and global reach. You'll partner with the leadership team, establishing strategic goals and priorities to help establish a commercial HR function. In addition, you'll mentor and coach junior HR professionals, helping them to drive performance and support the business delivery and results. Within this role you will:

  • Act as Business Partner to assigned pillars within RWAS and ensure that HR delivery adds value to the business

  • Lead implementation of projects and process improvement activities for the day-to-day development of redesign and new local and global HR initiatives. Partner with senior management to develop and deliver the overall HR strategy for RWAS

  • Provide HR Partnering management coaching and counseling to business leaders and managers to effectively meet business line/region goals

  • Lead projects and process improvement activities related to employment legislation, HR systems, practices, procedures and compliance

  • Develop strong and effective team relationships with HR specialist functions/Centers of Excellence, e.g., HRPSC, Finance PSC

  • Provide advice, guidance and direct support on all aspects related to people management to senior management

  • Manage staff in accordance with organization's policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions on human resources matters

  • Develop, manage and oversee the functional HR budget and manage expenses within budget allocations

  • Ensure the provision of timely employee-related information to management teams as necessary

  • May be responsible for payroll functions as appropriate, depending on country and regional structure

  • Bachelor's degree or educational equivalent and extensive experience as a generalist or combination of generalist and specialist experience including proven direct line management experience and experience operating with senior/executive management teams; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

He/she will advise and assist management and staff in assigned academic support units on a variety of HR issues and concerns, recommending appropriate use of human resources policies, services and programs offered by Duke University. Work Performed: Serve as HR representative for assigned Academic Support Units 1. HR Generalist: advise departmental management on pay issues, affirmative action requirements, classification issues, performance appraisal, employee relations and employee training and development issues; maintain liaison with Assistant Vice Provost and Director of Academic HR Services, Human Resources and other appropriate offices and departments to respond to personnel problems, issues, and special requests and to facilitate personnel actions. As needed: * Advise and/or participate in recruitment, screening, and interviewing of applicants for departmental positions; provide guidance on selection and placement of employees in positions to achieve departmental objectives; ensure departmental compliance with EEO and other applicable requirements. * Review candidate resumes and make salary recommendations. * Interpret personnel policy intent and/or acceptable management practices to ensure fair and consistent application of University policy; review departmental policies in accordance with established University policy. * Advise and assist management in the handling of employee relations issues, complaints and/or grievances and determination of appropriate corrective actions; support management at grievance hearings, dismissal conferences and arbitration. * Review and screen departmental requests for new positions and reclassifications to determine appropriateness of submission; advise management on departmental organization; review information on job duties and provide context to Rewards and Recognition. * Prepare reports and analyses reflecting progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions; ensure maintenance of appropriate personnel records. * Meet with assigned units at least annually regarding HR needs and trends. 2.
