This is an exciting opportunity with an equity play to join us at a key pivot point in our evolution.

We are looking for an experienced hands-on HR Director to support our Operations team in our Corporate office. This position will perform a varied mix of corporate functions including human resource support, payroll support, benefits management, vendor management, inventory and supplies management, performance reporting for the organization, organizing corporate events and travel and other corporate programs. The role requires an upbeat personality, solid interpersonal skills, and an excellent phone demeanor. Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task while balancing multiple priorities will be needed to execute this role. The ideal candidate must be comfortable using computer-based software systems and proficient in the MS office suite. A background in operations support for a professional services organization would be a big plus.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducts and manages onboarding process, new-employee orientations, employee relations counseling, exit interviews.

  • HR support including benefits programs, vendor management, benefits eligibility notification, open enrollment coordination, termination and COBRA, 401k enrollment and maintenance.

  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records.

  • Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.

  • Payroll support including tracking PTO requests, benefits adjustments, timecard adjustments, payroll reports, new hire reporting and backing up payroll/accounting staff as needed. Performing verification of client engagement documentation and commission assignments as well as ongoing change management. Background checks for corporate hires, responding to UI claims.

  • Support monthly financial close on healthcare costs reconciliation, section 125, expenses, internal rewards program management and reconciliation.

  • Oversee supplier relations including managing office supplies vendors, procuring tchotchkes and holiday gifts/cards, managing services vendors for the local office, managing phones and communications vendors.

  • Oversee travel program management and corporate meetings logistics support and management.

  • Oversee general operations support for mail, general voicemail and enquiries, technical support, regional office supplies, handle escalations of operations issues.

  • Process review and optimization to continuously improve the operations and functioning of our back office

Skills and Background:

  • 8+ years' experience in human resources department

  • 4+ years' experience in a HR leadership position

  • Passion for people interaction and solid interpersonal skills

  • Strong understanding of the benefits administration, payroll and other HR functions

  • Excellent communication, leadership and planning skills

  • Should have worked for a company with 300+ employees

  • Must have been in a position of managing processes

  • Thorough knowledge of PC and MS Office Excel, Word

  • Familiarity with Bullhorn CRM and Paycom systems are helpful

  • Ability to think analytically and to make sound judgments from analysis

  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels in the work force

  • Ability to plan and organize own work and have attention to detail

  • Ability to work flexible hours during periods of heavy workloads

  • Ability to multitask effectively and help with all aspects of Operations support

  • Good writing and organizational skills

  • Prior professional services or consulting industry background would be a plus

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • General understanding of IT terminology and technology

  • Good conceptual and analytical skills, with an ability to crunch numbers and generate reports
