As HR Director, you will be supported by an experienced leadership team, the Vice President of HR, and an experienced HR support team who are all focused on the mission to facilitate lasting positive change for young people and their families.

Embark operates behavioral health facilities across the US that support adolescents, young adults, and their families by offering a full continuum of care from Short & Long-Term Residential, IOP/PHP clinics to virtual outpatient care. Our local IOP/PHP clinics are a critical part of our strategy to increase access to life-saving mental health treatments for families with insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of HR for two primary locations, Chandler, AZ office and Bakersfield, CA office.

  • Drives policy, planning, strategy, and operations.

  • Oversight and management of benefits administration, compliance, employee relations management, conflict resolution, HRIS administration, risk management, worker's compensation, and total compensation and rewards.

  • Evaluates, and makes proposals for wage and compensation analysis. Stays updated on wage transparency laws.

  • Designated point of contact for support office employees related to their various needs, possessing a resourcefulness mindset.

  • Ensures the benefits package is promoted and clearly communicated to support office employees, tracking eligibility dates and offering continuing coverage at time of termination when applicable.

  • Creates quarterly goals and/or priorities in collaboration with the Leadership Team to help prioritize HR needs and achieve company goals.

  • Identifies problem areas related to turnover/retention and assists with suitable corrective action.

  • Oversees and tracks the employee disciplinary process by investigating claims and recommends an appropriate response to policy and procedure violations.

  • Provides employee support and counseling regarding job-related problems. Assures that company policies are administered fairly, consistently, and in an unbiased fashion. Participates in and promotes the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB).

  • Oversees and becomes proficient at payroll/HRIS functions for salary and hourly employees. Holds supervisors accountable to approving timecards and approves when necessary.

  • Understands and becomes proficient at utilizing the various technology platforms used within the company, i.e., the applicant tracking system, HRIS/payroll system, risk management systems, unemployment portals, the employee engagement survey system, and any other endorsed platform used by the company related to HR.

  • Sets the culture of the Support Office and works with management on culture initiatives by leading the culture committee.

  • Tracks applicant/employee referrals to ensure timely payout of bonuses and promotes the referral bonus recognition program.

  • Compiles and submits weekly reports to support office management.

  • Participates in monthly and weekly HR conference calls with HR support personnel and all program HR Managers around the country.

  • Oversees resignations and terminations and ensures documentation is in order.

  • Understands and coordinates requests for FMLA and long-term disability.

  • Coordinates Light Duty work and ensures any injured employee who misses 3 days of scheduled work or more, receive a Light Duty Offer Letter.

  • Reviews and updates HR Policies and Procedures.

  • Facilitates open enrollment for benefits annually and works closely with Embark leaders and team members to ensure a smooth benefit enrollment process.

  • Conducts and tracks exit interviews for departing employees, tracks the data, and shares the data with senior management.

  • Oversees the culture committee to assist with and plan for holiday parties and special events. Recognizes each employee on their birthday and employment anniversary.

Qualifications

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, preferably a bachelors degree in a related field and/or an HR certification with SHRM or HRCI, plus 5-10 years of HR experience.

  • Experience managing a interdisciplinary team

  • Healthcare Experience is required (At least 2 years)

  • Possess advanced knowledge of benefits related to medical, dental, vision, long term disability and 401k, and other ancillary benefits.

  • Requires the ability to successfully pass a state and federal background check and work in the Chandler, AZ office. This position is in-office, on site.
