Salary: $22-25 per hour - Full Time

The San Diego Convention Center is located on sparkling San Diego Bay in the heart of a vibrant downtown. Abundant, flexible space and five-star service make the San Diego Convention Center the meeting planner's choice for hosting major conventions, trade shows, meetings and special events. The San Diego Convention Center has 2.6 million sq. ft. to include 72 meeting/banquet rooms, eight exhibit halls, two ballrooms and a special events area - the Sails Pavilion, 138-seat capacity onsite restaurant and 36-seat bar, 8 concession stands in exhibit halls, 2 full-service kitchens, portable specialty services and 3 Starbucks lobby operations. Some of the many types of events offered at the San Diego Convention Center include the annual Comic Con and ESRI shows, full service plated dinners and buffet & reception events.

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist at the San Diego Convention Center. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:

The HR Coordinator is responsible for supporting the overall effectiveness of Sodexo Live!'s Corporate Recruiting function by providing counsel, hands-on assistance and technical expertise regarding company systems, policies and procedures and matters of state and federal compliance.

The HR Coordinator will establish themselves as a strategic team member and they will work closely with managers in the field to support the recruiting and HR needs of each region, district and unit and will operate with some independence to ensure fairness and objectivity for all employees, while supporting Sodexo Live!'s vision, mission and values. They will participate in various personnel-related functions, including scheduling interviews, reviewing resumes, and screening candidates in addition to performing general clerical and administrative duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting with the implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee files and databases.

  • Handling documentation related to employee status changes (e.g., promotions, terminations, transfers)

  • Manage job posts in Applicant Tracking System and externally to various career sites and college boards

  • Build candidate generation strategies

  • Providing support for employee relations matters and conflict resolution as needed

  • Responsible for updating the applicant tracking system

  • Perform administrative tasks

  • Help with additional ad hoc projects as needed

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management or hospitality management

  • Advanced technical skills, with high proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs required

  • Recruitment experience preferred

  • Experience working in a Food & Beverage or Hospitality industry strongly preferred

  • Polished and professional image with exceptional ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats

  • Keen ability to connect easily with others and create positive positioning within a particular context or subject matter

  • Proficiency in the use of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn)
