ELS is hiring for the position of HR Coordinator in Chicago, Illinois.

What You'll Do

The Talent Management Coordinator supports all employees along their career path and identifies and solves issues as they arise. You will develop initial responses to employee questions and concerns. This role has a variety of different growth opportunities within our organization.

  • Assist with new employee background checks and follow up with hiring managers as needed

  • Respond to verifications of employment status and unemployment claims

  • Oversee the onboarding and e-verify process

  • Provide exceptional customer service to our employees by answering employee requests and questions

  • Research HR and related topics for team to use when responding to employee questions

  • Maintain knowledge of the Company's internal platforms; assist with process development, documentation, and overall workflow improvements

  • Provide administrative support to team members on an as needed basis

  • Assist with special projects as needed to help advance the team and company's operations, processes and efficiencies

  • Collaborate with team members and work well in a fast paced, changing environment

Experience & skills you need:

  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Some office experience is a plus, can include internships

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including a consistent demonstration of patience and a sense of humor

  • High level of comfort working with all levels of employees

  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills

  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment

  • Ability to analyze data, create reports and make presentations

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion

  • Flexibility and the ability to respond quickly to shifting company and team objectives

  • Strong knowledge of current federal, state and local employment laws

  • Dedication to maintaining strict confidentiality with respect to highly sensitive information

The Opportunity: Human Resources Coordinator The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Human Resources department in all aspects of human resources management. Key Responsibilities * Places job postings/advertisements for open positions. Attends recruitment fairs with other employees. * Assists and acts as backup to recruiters with using the HR applicant tracking system. * Schedules candidates for interviews. Conducts reference checks and processes background checks. * Provides administrative assistance and scheduling to senior department leaders. * Maintains confidentiality and security of all employee and proprietary company information. * Onboarding new employees in the HRIS and applicant tracking system (UltiPro and Taleo systems) processing and quality checks new hire documents. * Takes the lead with new employee onboarding. Works with hiring managers to create onboarding schedules. * Handles data entry for HRIS, benefits, learning management system and other systems with accuracy. Runs reports from various systems as requested. * Serves as the first point of contact for employee questions and requests. Develops an understanding of HRC's benefits and policies in order to be able to answer most employee questions. Escalates issues as needed to other members of the HR team. * Assist with screening resumes and interviewing interns for the organization with content representatives .. * Coordinate and assist with new employee orientations for incoming employees and interns * Coordinates events such as training classes and employee recognition activities. * Processes monthly HR related billing and expense reports. * Updates organizational chart and updates HR sections of the HRC intranet. * Fulfills requests for verifications of employment. * Orders supplies and catering when necessary. * Maintains and files all HR-related records in compliance with employment law, keeping all department records (paper and electronic) well organized and up to date. * Provide HR support in the areas of performance management by reviewing performance management document for compliance, monitoring compliance and entering data. * Provides additional administrative support to the HR department. * Performs various special projects. * Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Experience * Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) required. Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field preferred. * 3 -5 years of experience in HR preferred. Six to twelve months administrative experience required. * Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required and are essential to succeeding in this role. * Proficient with MS Office Suite and Google Apps (Gmail, Google Docs and Drive). * Experience with videoconferencing software (especially Zoom) preferred. * Experience with HRIS systems, especially UKG (Kronos and UltiPro) preferred. * Strong professional ethics and highest sensitivity in dealing with confidential information are required. * Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritizing important issues. * Commitment to high quality and timely work product a must. * Must have the ability to interact professionally and effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. * Excellent customer service skills, strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to maintain composure and good judgment when dealing with deadlines, dissatisfied employees, or fast paced environment.
